I arrived at Downtown Rehoboth Beach about 7 a.m. on Sunday. The fog was pretty thick. The town was pretty quiet. The Rehoboth Beach marathon runners must have been exhausted after such a busy Saturday.
Cake Break was open, as usual. Debbie, Bill and their staff are on the go 24/7. How they do it? I really don’t know. On Saturday, they were at Cake Break at 4 a.m. in order to get ready for the runners.
I was in need of a bold cup of coffee. Cake Break is located at 7 South First Street. It is the heart of Rehoboth Beach. Tel. 302-260-9264. Website? http://www.cakebreakrehoboth.com. They open every day at 7 a.m.
This is a nut free facility. So if you have an allergy to peanuts, you don’t have to worry. They offer gluten free and vegan baked goods. And, they have good news….visit the website above mentioned and you will notice that you can buy gluten free and vegan breads, cupcakes and muffins online.
It is the Holiday Season and Debbie showed me the Holiday Gingerbread House. You can order it just like you see it, here on the photo, or just order one house. Whatever you want, they can do it. Just give them a call.
Another Holiday Season favorites are the Pull Apart Cakes made out of cupcakes. Coming out of the kitchen were the Christmas and the Nutcracker. They also have yule logs and stollens.
I thought the mini bites looked great and perfect for a party. Just pick them up and pop them in your mouth.
Fresh Jewish Apple Cakes with 2 layers of apples were just baked.
Giant chocolate ship cookies…..I resisted.
Biscotti…Chocolate, Bailey’s & Chocolate & Fruit.
Croissants: Butter, Raspberry Cream Cheese, Blueberry Cream Cheese, and Chocolate.
The Rum Raising Bread Pudding was still so warm.
And, the sticky buns were too tempting…still, I resisted.
I have had the Gluten Free & Vegan Blueberry Muffin and I can tell you that it is very good. Moist and just the right amount of sweetness.
After chatting with Debbie and Bill, it was time to go home with my chocolate gluten free cupcakes with cream cheese icing.
Cake Break cupcakes are dense and a great treat. You just have to try them and see for yourself.
Have a good one!!

I had received a tip that I needed to look for Miss Piggy at Cake Break. Say no more, that’s were I went on one of those hot summer days in Rehoboth Beach. There is something about cupcakes. They evoke childhood memories. One serving and you don’t really need to share with anyone. It is all yours to enjoy.
Cake Break is located at 7 South First Street, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971. Tel. 302-260-9264. Website? www.cakebreakrehoboth.com. You can find them on Facebook as CakeBreakRehoboth and on Twitter as CakeBreakRB.
I am so glad to see Cake Break so successful. Debbie, her husband, and her staff, including her 2 professional bakers, are working so hard and it is, definitely, paying off. I have written in the past several posts. If you want to see them, just put the name on the Search on this website.
It was in the afternoon when I arrived at Cake Break. I saw Miss Piggy. Renee, who is a friend, and always on the lookout for interesting foods, told me about it. So here it is. Meet Miss Piggy. This simple looking cupcake is packed with flavor. Those contrasting flavors of salt and sweetness make this one awesome cupcake!!
I sat down to eat it as Debbie’s husband explained what it consisted of. It is a brown sugar yellow cake with a swirl of brown sugar inside. A drizzle of caramel with butter cream and bacon. A total winner!!
That’s all I was going there for and as I was getting ready to leave the Canoli cupcakes made themselves present. Devil’s food or yellow? Decisions, decisions.
Please note that even though Cake Break is a gourmet cupcake company they do offer all kinds of homemade baked goods. They open very early and stay open late, as well. Their coffee is delicious. I have tried it; bold and hot.
You can call their number 302-260-9264 and pickup is available curbside.
They are busy with weddings. They offer wedding cupcakes, birthday cakes and special orders. Just call them or stop by to meet with Debbie.
Cake Break is a nut free facility. Vegan and Gluten Free options are available. Both are the best.
Stop by and say hello…they are a friendly bunch!!

I woke up so early and rushed out to see if I could get a glimpse of a sunrise on the last day of the year. Too cloudy; oh well.
I decided then that a visit to the downtown Rehoboth Beach bakeries would be the thing to do. Come New Year’s Day full of 2012 resolutions that will go out the window the moment you see what the bakeries will have; sticky buns, danish, muffins, cupcakes, donuts, breads….wash it down with a cup of coffee; I like it bold, not regular.
The Bake Shoppe is located at 222 Rehoboth Avenue. Tel. 302-226-0176. It will open at 6:30 a.m. This bakery has been in Rehoboth Beach for so many years. They are known for their traditional Polish Babkas. The pictures do not lie; check them out and start drooling.
Babkas
The next bakery I visited was Pasqualini’s Bakery located at 375 Atlantic Ave. Tels. 302-227-2111, 302-227-1086. Website? www.pasqualinis.com.
They will be opening on New Year’s Day from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Please note that all baked goods will be 1/2 off. They will be closing until March.
Cake Break is one of the much loved bakeries in Downtown Rehoboth Beach. It is located at 7 South First St. Tel. 302-260-9264. Website? www.cakebreakrehoboth.com. You can find Cake Break on Facebook and Twitter. They will be opening New Year’s Day at 8 a.m.
Cake Break is a nut free facility. If you have a nut allergy then you will have no worries. They offer gluten free and vegan cupcakes, as well.
Thanks for the coffee Debbie!!
My last stop was The Point. This is a Coffee House and Bake Shoppe, located at “the point” where route 1 meets 1 A. It is 722 Rehoboth Ave. Extended. Tel. 302-260-9734. The Point will be opening on New Year’s Day at 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Coming in my eyes took off to the case with all the baked goods…..The Point bakes everything in-house and most of the coffees are also roasted in-house. Plenty of seating to relax.
They offer all the sweet stuff like sticky buns, cinnamon buns, made to order waffles, biscotti, croissants, artisan breads and birthday and holiday cakes, as well.
Espresso, capuccino, frappes, smoothies and more. Local King’s Ice Cream. Free-Wi-Fi and parking. Order to go or stay awhile.
My latte was delicious and thanks Tom for a very nice treat; a biscotti.
Just enjoying my latte when a gorgeous quiche came out of the kitchen. For lunch they offer salads, sandwiches and soup, as well.
To the gentleman from New Jersey that I talked his ear off….it was nice meeting you.
And to all of you?….Happy New Year….Much health and prosperity and time to enjoy it all!!!

It is dangerous out there, when you are out and about in Rehoboth Beach. Plenty of temptations is what I meant to say. Too many places to eat or just to grab something. The Downtown Rehoboth eateries are so accessible that if you don’t exercise self control you might find yourself in trouble.
But, if that happened to be the case, then, walk the Boardwalk. I believe that it is a mile each way. There you have it, a perfect solution.
Stopped at Cake Break on Thursday, right after the GreenMan’s breakfast, with my friend Jody. Some cupcakes needed to be ordered. Cake Break is located at 7 South First St. Tel. 302-260-9264. Website? www.cakebreak.com. On Facebook, as well.
Just in time to see some beautiful baked goods coming out of their kitchen.
The sticky buns looked delicious. Out of the oven they were warm, I am sure. Thank God I was perfectly satified, having just had my tofu and the shot of wheat grass.
Then, the cinnamon buns appeared out of nowhere. Nice and round with that cinnamon aroma that is so distinguishable.
I noticed the table on the side. A little girl was with her mother. She was so busy decorating her cupcake she hardly noticed me. She had a heavy hand with the decoration. She was so happy with her creation. Off she went having started her day in the most satisfying way.
Cake Break has been open 7 days a week year round. Debbie, her husband and staff are always hard at work. Call them up and you can pick up your selections at curbside.
It is the only bakery in Downtown Rehoboth Beach that is a nut free facility. Cake Break offers vegan cupcakes, gluten free cupcakes and vegan and gluten free icing, as well.
P.S. Cake Break makes one good cup of coffee.
Have a great day!!…Talk to you later…

What a million dollar day!! If you are here, at the Delaware Beaches, you know what I mean. Just like everybody else, I am trying to spruce up my house for that time of the season when we enjoy that laissez fare type of living. I could not believe that the guy that came here yesterday spent all day cleaning the gutters, power washing everything in sight. My house could be a commercial for Bleach.
Today, I went to one of the favorite bakeries in Rehoboth Beach. Cake Break is located at 7 South First Street. The Tel. is 302-260-9264. Check the website www.facebook.com/cakebreakrehoboth. Cake Break is a gourmet cupcake company but that is not the only thing they bake. They also have special orders, cakes, breads, and buns. Coffee and light breakfast is available, as well.
I had ordered yesterday a special order bread for my husband who has to eat gluten free. It is a vegan gluten free bread and it is sitting on my counter waiting for him.
I noticed that Cake Break had a few new beer cupcakes. I took a few pictures of them so you could see them.
The Black-N-Tan Guinness Beer Cake with Baileys Irish Cream Icing and a Chocolate Rock on Top.
Then, there was the Car Bomb which was a Guinness Cake with Baileys Irish Cream Icing and Jameson Chocolate Ganache filling. They also have a Dogfish cupcake.
They always have the cinnamon buns.
One of the newest additions that attracted my attention were the Cake Pops. They are made out of vanilla, chocolate or red velvet. Diane made me eat one; the vanilla. It was delicious. These Cape Pops were taken to the Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Festival and they sold hundreds of them. They are easy to eat because one will satisfy that sweet craving without feeling like you ate the whole cake; perfect for a party or hostess gift.
Open every day, Cake Break is a must stop bake shop in Rehoboth Beach. Please remember that this bake shop is a nut free facility, as well.
Talk to you later……

Some of the side streets in Rehoboth Beach might look a little quiet now, but let’s not forget the businesses that are there day in and day out. Cake Break is one of them. Open year round, at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast, serving bagel sandwiches, breakfast pastries, organic coffee and espresso.
Location? 7 South First St., Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971. Tel. 302- 260-9264. Website is www.cakebreakrehoboth.com. You can find them on Facebook and Twitter, as well.
Their rum raisin bread pudding cupcake/muffin is so delicious with a light icing.
Fresh bread is baked daily: challa, old fashioned loaf, white, and baguettes.
Plus 20 flavors of gourmet cupcakes.
Cake Break is a nut free facility; gluten free, vegan, vegan icing, for those of you with food allergies.
I wanted to pass this info. to you just in case you are walking around Rehoboth and need a sweet fix. But that’s not all because Cake Break is taking special orders for holiday cupcakes and cakes. All you need to do is given them a call.
Have a great Holiday Season….talk to you later….
