Cedar Land and Sea, Restaurant, Review, Ocean View, Delaware, Delaware Beaches, 2023

I have to tell you that going to Ocean View brings me back to the mid 1970s. At the time the only grocery store for Bethany, Ocean View, and Millville was Hocker’s. Treasure Island Fashions started in the 1980’s and it is still there.

The community of Ocean View has grown so much and and I hardly recognize it.

Good Food Will Travel so TC and I took off from Rehoboth Beach on Friday to check Cedar in 2023. It only took about 15-20 minutes so don’t be shy and get out and go.

Cedar is located at 30234 Cedar Neck Rd. They open at the moment Thursday, Friday and Saturday. To make a reservation please call 302-539-2327.

It was crowded. It is a little noisy or I should say lively. We sat at a high table for 2.

A few drinks, a chowder which I forgot to take photos. It was good.

I ordered the Fresh Grilled Ahi Tuna. It was cooked medium rare, more rare than medium per my request. Soy reduction, wasabi creme drizzle, sea weed salad, rice and veggies. I thoroughly enjoyed it. A sizable serving; took a doggie bag home. Will have it again.

The temperature of the duck as suggested by the chef was medium rare. TC went further and asked for it to be rare. He thought it was very good. Doggie bag home too.

Most of the time I don’t order dessert but I always ask what are they offering. I had to order the Tres Leches. Perfect for sharing. This was Miguel’s rendition of a much loved dessert in Latin countries. Originating in Mexico where Miguel is from. That night he made a chocolate one but most of the time you see vanilla.

So good, light, not soggy, many air bubbles. It is a Sponge Cake, soaked in 3 milks; evaporated, condensed and whole.
