The Holidays in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware….Delaware Beaches, Holiday Survival Guide…Southern Delaware
Visions of Sugar Plums dancing in…..what? Say that again? My visions were a little different. That’s why on Christmas Day, my sister in law, Susie, and I took off for Downtown Rehoboth Beach to walk it all off….The Holidays!!
They say that the average American gains about 8 pounds from Thanksgiving to New Year’s. We were on our way…reaching that goal…yikes!
Walking around Rehoboth Beach is easy, especially on Christmas Day!! You have the town to yourselves. So, off we went to walk off the following:
Christmas Eve dinner consisted of my stuffed pork loin, among other dishes. My last figs were used in the stuffing. Truly delicious and nobody was counting calories.
Christmas morning is always soooo good. You wake up to the aroma of sausage cooking on the stove. This year we even added some of the leftover sweet potatoes.
A new addition was the Turkey Scrapple by Rapa. This scrapple has half the fat of the regular scrapple. Cooked well done…thin and crispy is the best.
The plate was full…a little fruit to make you feel healthier….but please don’t forget the molasses. A must drizzled over the buckwheat cakes!!
Cookies…a present from my neighbor….well, they never hit the gorgeous platter that accompanied them.
Which brings me to the subject of walking around Rehoboth Beach. It was cool but much welcomed weather!! It is that time of the year. Taking a walk on this beautiful coastal town is always invigorating.
The scenic Silver Lake…This lake is one of the 3 crown jewels of Rehoboth Beach. Along with Lake Gerar and Lake Comegys, Silver Lake is one of the fresh water lakes closest to the ocean anywhere in the country.
Going out and About in Downtown Rehoboth Beach, Delaware….have a good one!!
