But, will Karen’s imagination carry her to trouble, or to paradise? This short film praises obedience – to one’s own heart.
The Dream Share Project addresses the question; What does it take to make your dream come true? Delaware documentarians, Chip Hiden and Alexis Irvin, traveled the country finding answers from those who have turned aspirations into reality. You will hear from an Olympic skier, one of the original Latin Kings of Comedy, a slam poet, a Project Runway fashion designer, the CEO of a sustainable flip-flop company, a beer maker, the producer of Austin City Limits and many more. Some Christmas I am into scarves and gloves, others, I might be into jewelry….this year? Soaps, butters, scrubs, lotions, balms, shampoo. I don’t remember who asked me if I had gone to a soap store in Rehoboth Beach. They were raving about it. To tell you the truth I had not. But, a few weeks ago I found it!! And now, I am indulging and introducing Little Egg Harbor to my friends.
Little Egg Harbor Soap Company is located at 127 C Rehoboth Avenue in the Rehoboth Mews. Tel. 302-260-9813. Website? http://www.lehsoap.com. The company is from New Jersey. Three locations: Marmora, NJ, where the headquarter is located and where soaps and other products are made. Another location in Smithville, NJ, and the location in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
The Store Manager in Rehoboth Beach is Cinda Dera. She is great. Knows every particular of each product. She is also very friendly.
The day I visited, I did so with my friend Cindi. She and I totally fell in love with the store and the products. The soaps are made with oils of coconut, palm, olive, sunflower, castor and Shea butter. They make them in small batches. There are no detergents, animal fat, alcohol, preservatives, hardeners or mineral oils. You will get a totally vegan bar of soap.
The lotions, butters and scrubs do not have added colors.
All bars of soaps are sold by the ounce. Bars will be weighed at the register.
As you enter the store, the aroma is light and clean. The names on their soaps are: Blueberry Cobbler, Vanilla, Scarlet, Apple Martini, Beach Days, Weekend in Rehoboth….and more.
They have products Just for Men.
They also represent French soaps.
A line of products called Cucina from Italy. For your kitchen; biodegradable soaps and cleaning products. The formulas contain no phosphates, ammonia, or chlorine. The fragrances are unique.
I can attest to their shampoo. I have been using the moisturizing shampoo and love it. Leaves your hair shinny, manageable, and clean. I sound like a commercial, but it is true.
A line of soy candles called Beanpod. Vibrant colors and distinct fragrances. I opened the one that said Guava. Guava is a tropical fruit. It used to be one of those, that when I was growing up in Puerto Rico, you would pick off the trees. Almost extinct now….the smell of this candle brought me back to those years long ago. It was exactly the same smell. You could almost eat it. No kidding!
Coconut Oil – a moisturizer in coconut husk. You can use it practically for everything. Check http://www.lehsoap.com/coconut-oil-tips-and-benefits.
A well known product line from Oregon…Pacifica.
Soap Curls? Shaved and placed in bags…just a tiny bit to wash your hands. Bath Fizzie…fun for your bath!!
Note: If you have problems with psoriasis, eczema, patchy ski, ask them a bout their Calendula infused Bobbiesue Therapy Soap.
Stress free shopping? Shop the many small boutiques in Downtown Rehoboth Beach, where personal attention is their middle name….have fun!

I received a call, at night, from a friend of mine, with the question….Have you ever worn Spanx before? Out of the blue she came with that. I can’t tell you who she is. She proceeded to tell me that there is no way she could wear those. They are uncomfortable….bla, bla…and she finished by saying; “I am not from the Spanx generation; I am from the Bra-less generation!! This conversation, actually, did continue, her phrase staying with me for a future post.
Fast forward a week or so, I decided to stop at Something Comfortable. I knew my friend had stopped there. Something Comfortable is located at 122 Rehoboth Avenue. Right in Downtown Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Tel. 302-227-6180. Website? http://www.something-comfortable.com. This shop is own by Sue Petty. Phyllis, the Fitting Pro, will be there to help you get the best fitting. Because, if it does not fit, you must get relief.
I found Phyllis wearing her measuring tape around her neck. The store is full of intimate apparel, loungewear and pj’s. Customized bra fittings is a specialty at Something Comfortable. You can make an appointment or just walk in. They’ll take care of you.
Regarding Spanx….the women that wear the body shapers love them!!
The original thong, the one size fits all, Hanky Panky, is still going strong with great colors.
Bras are expensive and there are so many to pick and choose, and so many colors too. Something Comfortable has a wide range of sizes. From tiny bras to 52 Gs. So, women of all sizes can find the perfect and most comfortable bras at the shop.
As I was taking this picture, I was thinking…do women really wear these little racy numbers? Phyllis told me the majority of women will wear them as bustiers…probably with a jacket over.
Brides and bridal parties are also very much welcomed at Something Comfortable. Visit the Bridal Wish List on the website above mentioned.
And, for those who love the Ravens…look what I found!! The perfect loungewear on Sunday football or Monday night football!!
Something Comfortable is open Sunday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Note: Boxers for men…available.
Have a great day!!

This is a must stop shop in Rehoboth Beach, I thought, as I stepped into Bella Luna with my Breve. This shop is eclectic, whimsical and fun!! It is located in the heart of Downtown Rehoboth Beach, at 127 Rehoboth Avenue. Tel. 302-227-0267. Website? http://www.bellalunatic.com. The owner is Janice Elder.
Bella Luna is, definitely, ready for all the upcoming festivals and holidays at the Delaware Beaches. It is bursting with merchandise. If you cannot find anything here, then you must be pretty hard to please. The store is geared for women. As I was taking some of the pictures, a couple of guys were sitting on benches outside, commenting how much their wives liked Bella Luna. So typical….waiting outside hoping the wives don’t yell “honey, come and see this”.
So…shall we start shopping?
The Sea Witch Festival is next week-end, right here in Rehoboth Beach. In order to fit in you need to wear something a little witchy.
Earrrings!! Great prices, as well.
Lotions, potions, and candles too!!
Scarves and fun stuff!!
Tea towels and art!!
Janice was also bringing out some of the Christmas decorations.
Bella Luna has a line of cards that is one of my favorites. It is called Curly Girl Design. They are so much fun and holiday cards are also available.
So much to see at Bella Luna; the pictures don’t do justice. Best to visit and spend some time. Bella Luna also carries, jackets, gloves and bags…as the weather get colder those items are very much sought after.
Stop by and say hello….Rehoboth Beach merchants are very friendly!!

I was walking around in Downtown Rehoboth Beach when I decided to stop at Tiger Lili to find a present for one of my best friends. There were a couple of celebrations going her way and I knew I would find something different at Tiger Lili, located at 18 Rehoboth Avenue. Tiger Lili has another location at the Tanger Outlets on Coastal Highway, as well.
I guess this post is for women only. Tiger Lili specializes in unique handbags, clothing, jewelry, and accessories at very affordable prices. You can find Tiger Lili on Facebook. Tel. 302-226-0731. It opens year-round.
No outfit is complete without accessories. You will find plenty at Tiger Lili. Plus, you will get personal service. I have mentioned many times that the shopkeepers and the staff that work the shops in Downtown Rehoboth Beach are very personable. They become friends. That’s what I love about shopping in town. You can’t beat that one on one interaction; no rush, either.
Meet Lili Kohr. She is the owner of Tiger Lili. She is originally from Panama so we were able to practice our Spanish. Her clothing and accessories are more cutting edge; different from the rest. And, by the way, she was Mrs. Delaware 2008.
So…let’s not snooze and lose. What are we waiting for? There are sales going on Downtown Rehoboth Beach. Let’s stop writing and start shopping!! This is Tiger Lili.
Sweaters, scarves and handbags.
The weather has turned cooler…it’s that time of the year!!
Have a great time in Rehoboth today….not so fast, just a bit more shopping!!
Talk to you later…

Rehoboth Beach is a year-round destination. It is known for its beaches, restaurants and that casual atmosphere we all seek when we hit the beach. It is a very walkable town. At this time of the year, it is even better. Just park and take off walking…no meters; Hurray!!
So many stores. You can find gifts for any occasion. Some of the shops are located in quaint vintage houses that were, at some point, homes to some of the residents in Rehoboth Beach.
I decided to stop at J. Conn Scott. This Show House is located at 27 Baltimore Avenue. It is in one of those vintage houses, and on the ocean block; the corner of First Street & Baltimore. Tel. 302-227-3780. Website? http://www.jconnscott.com. J. Conn Scott has its Main Showroom at 6 East Coast Church St., Selbyville, DE 19975. Tel. 302-436-8205.
What’s neat about the Show House in Downtown Rehoboth Beach is that it changes, practically, every week. It is a source of inspiration for some…for others is a great place to shop. I think the Show House offers a more casual look. We are at the beach, afterall. The Main Showroom in Selbyville offers furniture, accessories, and art, from traditional to coastal.
J. Conn Scott has designers that are always available to help you. The help of a designer can help reduce cost, time and energy.
I was looking for a wedding present. I knew what I wanted. So, when I stopped by, it was not with the idea of writing a post for my blog. But, then, I could not help it. The store looked great. I took one picture, then another….then I could not stop. This is how the Show House looks this week.
The Show House flows like a house. An entry, followed by rooms all decorated and accessorized.
Pinks, Blues, Greens and the Neutrals!
Have a good time!! Talk to you later.
August 29th, 2012
Today, was one of those awesome days in Rehoboth Beach. After the crazy weather we have been having, we deserve these gorgeous days as the “official” summer season comes to an end. No humidity, 81 degrees….really pretty at the beach.
As I was walking in Downtown Rehoboth Beach, I saw a familiar face; one of those shopkeepers that make Rehoboth Beach a shopping destination. The Downtown shops are personal and easygoing. Meet Patty Watson. Stop by and say hello.
Basic Concepts has been in Rehoboth Beach for about 36 years. Congratulations to Patty; the shopkeeper. It is located at the Village-by-The-Sea Shops at 149 Rehoboth Avenue. Tel. 302-227-8688.
Our casual lifestyle at the beach is what a lot of visitors seek. At this time of the year the merchandise has changed. The fall season is upon us and you will find sweaters, scarves, pants, cover-us and accessories, as well.
A customer was trying a few things on…of course, we had to give her advice…looks great…well, the black is dressier, I love the other one…and on and on. Her husband was the perfect husband. He was encouraging to get a couple of more things. Here she is modeling one of her purchases.
I know that it is still August, but there is a feel for September in the air. Here are some of the other great finds you will find at Basic Concepts.
The fall is one of the best times, here at the beach. Rehoboth Beach has plenty to keep you busy. Talk to you later…
August 24th, 2012
If you are spending time in Downtown Rehoboth Beach, you will find that everything is so accessible. The beach, the award-winning Boardwalk, the Bandstand….those probably attract you to the Delaware Beaches. But, Rehoboth Beach is a destination for dining, and shopping, as well. Everything is within walking distance. The icing on the cake? Tax free shopping!!!
Boutiques are, definitely, smaller than a departments store. They do have a limited selection of merchandise. But, if you are like I am, I do prefer them for several reasons. First, boutiques fill a niche for us, the customers.
Personal attention and the ambiance of these small shops is what attract me to them. The interaction with their owners or managers is so personal. Some of them even become friends.
So, I decided to enter Sole, which is located at 110 Rehoboth Avenue. Tel. 302-227-6500. This boutique is open year-round.
You can tell the season is changing. Already a lot of the fall merchandise is on display. Sole carries Diane Von Furstengberg, Trina Turk, Nanette Lepore, Lacoste, Paige Premium Jeans, Jack Rogers, Havaianas, sweaters, scarves and jewelry.
Sole is well stocked and at present there are plenty of sales. Check it out.
