Shops, restaurants, hotels, B & B’s, theatre, entertainment, galleries….The Boardwalk…the beach. Just a stroll away; shop local, stay awhile. Rehoboth Beach has outdone itself bringing something every week to the town. Something worth driving to. From the tri-state area it is so easy to get to Rehoboth Beach. It was not so many years ago. In 1878 the railroad was extended to this coastal town bringing more visitors and businesses. The population in Rehoboth has grown so much. And, the Second Season is gorgeous at the beach.
So, What’s Going On?
Wednesday, 11/5 – Sunday, 11/9 – REHOBOTH BEACH INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL, presented by the Rehoboth Beach Film Society. The Big Tent will be behind Movies at Midway on Coastal Highway (Rt. 1). Friday, 11/7, Saturday, 11/8 – ST. NICHOLAS TEA, presented by the Village Improvement Association. Two seatings each day. Friday, 11/7 – COCOA CRAWL, presented by Rehoboth Beach Main Street. $10 Admission!! This is a fun evening in Downtown Rehoboth Beach from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Participating shops will have participating restaurants cooking in their stores. Drinks, desserts, discounts and live music by Paul Cullen. For more information, please visit http://www.downtownrb.com. You can purchase online tickets through their website, but you can also purchase them on Friday throughout town. The website will show which store is hosting which restaurant.
Saturday, 11/8 – POKER CRAWL, presented by Rehoboth Beach Main Street. You heard it right and it will be all day Saturday. Collect a poker card from participating restaurants then show’em at the Greene Turtle at 8 p.m……the best hand will win. For more information, please visit, http://www.downtownrb.com.
Saturday, 11/8 – 2nd SATURDAY ART WALK, presented by MOSAIC. It hapens every second Saturday of the month. Stroll the art galleries, greet and meet the owners and check out some awesome exhibits in town…..do a little local shopping, as well. More. Info? Please visit http://www.mosaicrehoboth.com.

Usually, after a holiday week-end, there is a subdued mood at our Beaches….we have to take a breather. Festivals and events will be ongoing in Rehoboth Beach pretty soon. The town has made sure our visitors have a great time; a trip back on the Second Season is a must.

Saturday, 9/8 and Sunday, 9/9 – It’s the 16th Annual Delaware Coast Antiques Show & Sale. Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. 35 selected exhibitors. Saturday, 9/8 and Sunday, 9/9 – ALS Fundraiser-Art for the Cause. It is for CAMP Rehoboth. More info? Please visit http://www.camprehoboth.com. ART-a-paloozzA will be on Saturday from 4 – 9 p.m., at The Breakers Hotel, 105 Second St. in Rehoboth Beach. This is a free event. Light refreshments will be served. Saturday, 9/8 – The Second Saturday Art Walk, sponsored by MOSAIC, The Rehoboth Beach Gallery Collective. 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. MOSAIC was founded in 2008. It will be from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Plunging will begin at 1 p.m. Location? Grenoble Place and the Beach. There will be games, food, face painting and a lot of fun.
Even though I started this post saying that it is usually more subdued in Rehoboth Beach after a holiday week-end, well, I just came from having dinner in Rehoboth and almost could not get a parking space….popular place.
I went to Confucius, which is located at 57 Wilmington Ave., in Downtown Rehoboth Beach. Danielle and Shawn, the owners, were there, as usual. Great couple; they make you feel very comfortable. This is one of those restaurants that is very aware of customers with food allergies. Will go out of their way, and will substitute or make you something special. They are open year-round and it is a favorite with Rehoboth Beach residents. Website? http://www.confuciusrehobothbeach.com.
I had tonight a dish that I have had several times. Always delicious…The whole black seabass, fried till crispy, topped with honey vinegar sauce…a bit spicy too.
