The window caught our attention as Jody and I strolled the Avenue…we were in Downtown Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. This store is quite big and it is full of fun stuff for the whole family.
It is called M Squared, located at 146 Rehoboth Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971 Tel. 302-227-6626. Website? http://www.m2rehoboth.com.
Stop by because they have great prices. I love accessories and their earrings are all $12!!!
Open their website for online shopping. All the above earrings and others are all on the website.
I have friends that just had twins. I thought these were great.
And for the newlyweds, I thought this was a clever idea. Leave them your best wishes in a personal note.
The stores in Downtown Rehoboth Beach are getting ready for Summer 2014!!
Have a good one!!

“Almost every culture has a mystique about pearls that are magical or divine.” joan frense-mulholland
Pearl enhances a woman’s skin like nothing else. All you have to do is wear them….people will notice.
Up the road from the Delaware Beaches, just about 20 minutes or so from Rehoboth Beach, is The Pearl Lady, located at 4 Park Avenue, 2nd Floor in the town of Milford, Delaware. The entrance is around the corner from the Mispillion Art League. Tel. 302-228-2287. Website? http://www.the-pearl-lady-studio.com. She opens Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. If that does not work for you, just give her a call and she will be glad to make an appt. Is that easy!!
The Pearl Lady Studio’s website is pretty interesting….What Joan’s is all About, the different pearls, and their care.
In her studio, Joan gives her full attention to her customers. You can speak to her in English or French.
Her designs are all about enhancing the natural beauty of the pearls…they speak for themselves.
It is that time of the year….Valentine’s Day is around the corner and with so many weddings taking place at the Delaware Beaches, it is good to keep the Pearl Lady in mind for those gifts that are part of the celebrations.
Talk to you later…have a great day!!

TaDa looks beautiful and fully prepared to help you shop for everyone on your list. Gift giving is part of the Holiday Season….TaDa’s painted glassware and art by Patty Falck is collected by many.
Shop, stroll, meet with friends…..TaDa is a must!!

For me, shopping small and local has always been something that I have enjoyed. I have plenty of friends that love going “mall” shopping….not for me. I like that up close and personal kind of service. Which brings me to NEST, located at 11 South Main Street in Historic Berlin, Maryland. Tel. 410-629-1030.
Driving to Berlin from Rehoboth Beach, takes about half hour. No big deal, it is the Second Season so there is no traffic. Strolling a historic town, checking what’s new during the holidays is pretty nice, so Jody and I did just that.
I think Petey is really the Mayor of Historic Berlin. He is such a hard working little dog. I have featured him before and once again here he is…..greeting the customers and making sure that Dee gets up and gives us that personal attention we were looking for. Now, you tell me…where would you find something like this in a “mall”? You gotta love it!!
Dee has been quilting. Her remnants have become quilts. The reverse of the quilts is soft and warm.
Dee calls her handmade handbags Boppyowl. She offers 2 sizes and they are made with beautiful rich fabrics, lined with contrasting colors.
NEST is an eclectic and funky shop. Every time you shop, there are surprises; local artwork, jewelry, home accessories. At this time of the year the shop is fully stock. Berlin’s 2nd Friday Art Stroll will be on Friday, 12/14, so make sure you make NEST one of your stops.
NEST carries unwined candles from Unwined Candle Co., located in Sykesville, Maryland….from recycled wine bottles.
NEST opens year-round. Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., Sunday from 12 until 4 p.m. You can find NEST on Facebook, as well.
Merry Christmas!!

“Milford is a community with respect for its past and great promise for the future.” It is undeniable the spirit of renewal in the town of Milford. Trees, street art, Victorian lampposts are lining the streets…the beautiful Riverwalk. The city is involved with the Delaware Main Street program, revitalizing the downtowns through historic preservation. The town is lucky to have so many of its residents that are on board and full of enthusiasm as Milford becomes a destination in Southern Delaware.
One of such artists and mentors is Scott Angelucci. His Studio & Artists’ Gallery is located in a building on the corner of Walnut Street and Park Avenue. This building is also the home of the Mispillion Art League. Scott Angelucci’s Fine Woodworking Studio is located at 7 Park Avenue, with the Stained Glass Studio and Artists’s Gallery at 4 Park Avenue. Tel.302-422-4533 Website? http://www.angeluccifinewood-stainedglass.blogspot.com.
Years ago Scott Angelucci made for my husband a humidor. This time I was picking up a custom compass box, also commissioned by my late husband. Scott’s work is amazing.
Angelucci Studios & Artists’ Gallery serves as a gallery for local artists displaying their works of art, and it is also Gail Angelucci’s Stained Glass Studio.
Both, Gail and Scott are very welcoming and easy to talk to. Gail was already working on a stained glass piece, Scott was ready to show me the gallery.
I thought this would be the perfect post at this time of the year when we are trying to find gifts that are unique and personal.
The basket weaver…
Photography printed on aluminum…”Under the Pier” by Gervasio Ruiz
Atomic Arc-Work’s by Travis D. Carter. He repurposes old parts found in his travels, building sculptures and metal furniture.
Gypsy Fox Jewelry by Elaine Pataky. Elaine has lived all around the U.S. She has a formal education in Fine Arts, Interior Design and is a flower show judge for National Garden Clubs. Her medium has become jewelry; working as a wire-sculptor, using semi-precious stones and glass and crystal beads.
Steve Childers is a wood turner. Besides his beautiful work, Mr. Childers “Viewing Stones” give you something to think about.
“Viewing Stones are adminired and exhibited as works of art in their own right. Consequently, they are always displayed in isolation.” Each is unique, and perceived differently by the viewer. Using your imagination, the stone can be a mountain, an island, an animal? You decide.
Jacob’s Gems….a disability, that did not stop him. Paper shredding with a note, perfect for packing material and fillers.
A painter with a disease….also not stopping him, either.
Scott can give you a tour of his gallery any time. Shopping in Downtown Milford is best from Thursday through Saturday.
Scott’s humidor!!
Scott’s wine boxes!!
And, my late husband’s Compass Box…he would have loved it!! The main wood is Tiger Maple, Dark Wenge is the dark trim wood which grows in the Congo River. The ligher compass rose is Yellow Heart from South America. The repeating inlaid design is cherry, maple and walnut. Inside rim is Zebra Wood and grows in Africa. Thanks Scott!!

Don’t miss the opportunity because Mod Cottage is full of gifts and home accessories for every corner of your home.
Mod Cottage is located at 247 Rehoboth Avenue in Downtown Rehoboth Beach. Tel. 302-227-7277. Website? http://www.modcottage.net.
Brad Holsinger and Ed Moore are the proprietors of Mod Cottage. This is a must stop shop in Rehoboth Beach. Today, Brad gave Jody and I a warm welcome. He was getting ready for the celebration on Saturday.
You have to spend time at the store because every corner has something…pillows, napkins, shower curtains, gifts for every occasion… you name it.
At first when I saw these, I thought they were wine bottles. They were, actually, umbrellas. Their case is hard and waterproof. Perfect for those rainy days we have been having…just close the umbrella and stick in the case.
Mary F. Costa is a native of California, but Rehoboth is lucky to have her as a resident. Her passion is woodworking and I thought these were so pretty!!
Products from Lollia…they have appeared in Oprah’s magazine.
A corner for children. Really cute!!
The jewelry was very reasonably priced.
I have plenty of friends celebrating birthdays, others have children getting married, and for others, is graduation….I hope they are checking this post!!
Candles and Scents!!
Now that you have taken a peek at what Mod Cottage has to offer, all you have to do is join them in the celebration!! Have a great week-end.

I was totally surprised to hear that people think Tulip is a garden center. For many years I lived in the town of Bethany Beach….that’s where Tulip is from. It was in town and always was a must stop shop in Bethany. A few years ago it moved to Rehoboth Beach. The store has a much bigger locale and plenty of parking.
Tulip is located at 29819 Highway One, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971. Tel. 302-226-2696. It is family owned. Website? http://www.tulipltd.com
The store was always known for its lighting. Today, Tulip offers furniture, accessories, and gifts.
It also has a really cute corner for children, with sweaters hand knitted in Rehoboth Beach. Gifts for babies and fun things for toddlers.
The store is full of neat ideas for the holidays. I found and actually, bought, the Corkcicle. On my picture, if you look to the left of the lamp you can spot it. It freezes and then it cools your wine from the inside out.
The Dazzler is a battery operated candle. It has a LED bulb technology, it lasts about 5 hours, and runs on 2-AA batteries.
Holiday and New Year’s decorative place mats, napkins and surprises.
The glass crab ornament caught my attention.
Besides having a room dedicated to Vera Bradley, they also carry Bosom Buddy Bags.
Tulip also carries gifts for every occasion.
For the women that enjoy jewelry, a line from Florida, completely handcrafted with organic elements, nickel and lead free…also hypoallergenic.
You can find even some even on sale.
The second floor offers furniture, lighting, art and home accessories.
Now that you know that Tulip is not a garden center, by all means, stop by. They are very helpful if you are somewhat clueless on what you would like to purchase for that person that has it all.
Talk to you later. Have a good one!!

It is so good to be able to say thank you and mean it. I want to thank those companies advertising on AboutMyBeaches. Some of them I bugged a lot; explaining why they should be on my website. I really do appreciate it.
AboutMyBeaches started back on July of 2009. It was one of those ideas. I am a frustrated concierge. First it was going to be just a website. When my webmaster, Ed Timmons, met with me, I kept talking and talking. He probably thought I was more of a blogger. So, really, it was his suggestion. Here I am. I consider myself to be in the business of Word of Mouth.
Since my advertisers are on my website, which is written in a blog style, you can access them directly. Just look at them on the right hand side of AboutMyBeaches, http://www.aboutmybeaches.com, and you will be able to find out what these companies are all about. They are all different.
