Destination? Rehoboth Beach Farmers’ Market, Tuesdays, Noon – 4:00 p.m. Fresh, Local, Produce, Baked Goods, Meet the Farmers & Vendors! Delaware Beaches, Southern Delaware

dscn0565

Spending time in Rehoboth Beach gets even better if you happen to be visiting on Tuesdays.  Just like this past Tuesday it was a sunny and hot day in the Nation’s Summer Capital.  And, right behind the Visitors Center the white tents were already up….the Rehoboth Beach Farmers’ Market begins at Noon and ends at 4 p.m.

dscn0599

dscn0600

The increasing demand for healthier food are making these farmers’ markets a gathering place….it so much more personal than being in a traditional grocery store.  You can interact with the growers and vendors.  Plus, I think they also have become social events.  If you are a local meet the visitors.  Farmers markets offer fresh and local produce and baked goods.

dscn0591

The Rehoboth Beach Farmers’ Market website is very informative.  You can read about the vendors, what will be happening at the market, entertainment, and recipes.  Please visit http://www.rbfarmersmarket.com.

Flowes, breads, vegetables…..look how beautiful they looked.

dscn0574dscn0577dscn0578dscn0579

Some of the residents show up very early, so as not to miss anything.  Even though baked goods were plentiful on Tuesday, they do go quickly….our local bakeries are excellent.

dscn0568dscn0570

Fresh Harvest Hydroponics got my attention.  They were from Millsboro, Delaware.  Tel. 301-643-2487.  Lettuces and basil….hydroponics; growing plants in water without soil.

dscn0572

dscn0571

Jams and jellies always found at the market.

dscn0593

Fifer’s raspberries looked gorgeous!!

dscn0580

Then, I came to the end of the line……Bennett Orchards had a truck full of peaches….the first of the season, making their appearance at the Rehoboth Beach Farmers’ Market.  Offering fresh cut peaches to customers….when peaches are just picked, it becomes a complete different fruit….

dscn0586

dscn0582

So, I am watching the unloading of the peaches….and I do want to take some pictures.  They looked beautiful.

dscn0588

dscn0585

The line of customers was pretty long.  It was, definitely, the tent to hit on Tuesday.

dscn0581

I decided to stand behind the guy with the stripe t-shirt…..He was buying peaches, berries, you name it.  So, all of a sudden I was tapped on my shoulder.  The lady said…..”The line is back there.”   Some were rolling their eyes, I just told her I wanted to take some pictures….not buying anything.  Not to worry, please…not cutting in line.

Then, the guy with the stripe t-shirt turned and said “Go right ahead, I am on vacation”.  That was priceless!!  And I was grateful. These are my photos.

dscn0587dscn0583dscn0589

You know what’sgood about the Rehoboth Beach Farmers’ Market?  That even on a hot day, it is great to visit.  Lots of trees and the Tot Lot adjacent to it make it a place for the whole family.  You sit and enjoy your goodies or just take in the scene.

dscn0596

Oh, wow….there is my friend with the stripe t-shirt.  He was really shopping the market.

dscn0594

Have a great day!!  Remember Tuesdays, rain or shine!!

Sherri’s Crab Cakes, Tanger Outlets, “Food Truck”, Midway, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Surprise, Surprise….Very Good!! Delaware Beaches, Southern Delaware

dscn0321

Fourth of July Week-End and there are so many deals at the Tanger Outlets in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.  Remember thay they will start putting out the Fall merchandise soon and they need to move what they have in the stores now!!  Go to http://www.tangeroutlet.com/rehoboth/coupons, to check what specials they are offering.

If you get hungry at the outlets look for Sherri’s Crab Cakes.  It is a “Food Truck”, concession that originated in Pennsylvania.  This one is a franchise.  A Tanger Outlets you will usually find it at the Midway outlets.  There are only a few concessions like Sheri’s Crab Cakes at the outlets.  And, it has been there for years.

At first I was not sure.  You know how it is.  Coastal Delaware is known for their crab cakes.  We don’t want all these fillers; we just want a nice size crab cake.  The only other food they sell is a hot dog, smoothies, iced tea, lemonade, and water.

dscn0325

So, I stopped by, but I has already eaten so…the ladies you see on this photo were my tasters.  They were from Pennsylvania and were out for a day of tax free shopping.  One of them had a daughter that had tasted Sherri’s Crab Cakes at an event.  Up and down from Boston to Florida Sherri’s Crab Cakes have a presence in concerts, events….you name it.  Thousands of them are sold at events. Please visit http://www.sherriscrabcakes.com.

dscn0329

First you order from the window.  It really is a food truck.

dscn0326

The crab cake is about 8 ounces.  It has Jumbo Lump, Lump, Mayo, Spices, Egg, and some Cracker Crumbs to hold it together.  It is an overflowing scoop.

dscn0327

Is is then gently placed on a hot griddle to start the cooking process.  It will take about 7 minutes or so, more or less.

dscn0322

With the spatula it then pressed lightly.  Cook it on one side and then turn it over.

dscn0323

The finished crab cake is then placed on a bun, but not before asking you what else do you want on it.

dscn0328

My tasters were going to split it….they were just a tad hungry and wanted something to tied them over until dinner.  They asked me to have a bite.  I was totally surprised!!  It was really good.

For some of you that might be skeptical about eating crab cake from a food truck….try it and let me know what you think.

Have a great day.

Rehoboth Beach Eats! Fisher’s Popcorn, Caramel, Gluten Free, Mail Orders, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware Beaches, Southern Delaware! New Flavor! Caramel with a Dusting of Crab Spice! Yum!

dscn0528

Have you tasted the new Fisher’s Popcorn flavor?  It is their original caramel popcorn with a dusting of crab spice.  How coincidental that I found myself in front of Fisher’s.  Fisher’s Popcorn is located at 44 Rehoboth Avenue in Downtown Rehoboth Beach.  Tel. 302-227-2691.  Website?  http://www.fishers-popcorn.com.

dscn0526

You can always stop and taste….then commit yourself to take some home.

dscn0524

Let me tell you that my family loves the original caramel flavor.  You can take it home and just zap it for a second in the microwave…..warm, sweet and awesome!  So trying the dusting of crab spice was going to be very interesting.  Corey watched me take the first bite.  So, what do you think?  I answered….I like it.  The reason I liked was that it is just a dusting, with enough spice to give it some kick.  And I do agree with Corey; I think it would be perfect with beer!  That combination of sweet, salt, and crab spice is unique.

dscn0543

Taking some home….it had also very good reviews….but they still liked the original caramel the best.

Other flavors have dustings of Cheddar, and of White Cheddar.

The caramel corn is made in-house….at times you can see them working the kettles.

100_2839

Then, as you stroll Rehoboth Avenue you cannot help but stop at the sight of the abundance of caramel corn.

100_2841

Over the years, I have sent Fisher’s Popcorn to Puerto Rico, Florida, Colorado, California, Maryland…and even took it to the nurses that took care of my husband last year at University of Pennsylvania Medical Center.  You can mail order Fisher’s year-round.  Just check the website above mentioned and if you are the beach stop by in Rehoboth Beach, Bethany Beach, or Fenwick and they will take care of you.

100_2837

Enjoy the Holiday Week-End….it is gorgeous out there!!

Destination? The Coffee House, Downtown Rehoboth Beach, Fresh Brewed Coffee, Baked Temptations, “Schell Swag”, Schell Brothers, Delaware Beaches, Southern Delaware…The Coffee House Opens Daily from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.

dscn0498

To offer a cup of coffee to someone is an act of friendship.  For some…a social ritual, and for others, like me, a daily addiction.  I love a bold cup of coffee in the a.m.!!

dscn0507

The Coffee House opened at 18 Rehoboth Avenue in Downtown Rehoboth Beach, on July 1st.  I had to go and check out this new Schell Brothers’ venture.  The first thing you have to do is look up to the ceiling….an upside down kitchen!!  If that doesn’t grab your attention, then nothing will.

dscn0486

The Coffee House will be brewing coffee 7 days a week, from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.  The Coffee House has an understated elegance, with beautiful chandeliers.

dscn0503

Plenty of comfortable seating…Wi-Fi available.

dscn0495

dscn0496

My capuccino was perfectly brewed with just the right amount of foam…..then, I met Scott and Megan.  They are at The Coffee House to make sure you are comfortable, and your questions are answered.

dscn0494

On the walls photos of Schell Brothers model homes.  Known for quality building, impeccable taste, and beautiful communities, their homes are very recognizable.  Buying a home can be very trying and with their resources they can make the home-buying experience a good one. One that you can be comfortable with.  The Gallery at The Coffee House shows what this company offers.

dscn0487

dscn0483

Besides coffee, The Coffee House offers baked goods.  All baked goods, including some gluten free ones, come from The Point, also in Rehoboth Beach.

dscn0504dscn0505

dscn0500

I was reading about branding and marketing like the “Schell Swag”…It is not about getting someone to choose you over the competition, but about “getting your prospects to see you as the only one that provides a solution to their problem”.

“A brand is the source of a promise to your customer”.  It stays within you, and it motivates the buyer, as well.

dscn0488

If you would like more information, please visit http://www.schellbrothers.com/blog.  Get into the conversation…..

As you visit Rehoboth Beach, make sure to stop by and say hello…..grab a coffee, make new friends, and remember that you are at the beach so, relax!  That’s what you came here for!
