Relief Effort, Donation Drive, Lewes, Delaware, Victims of Hurricane Sandy, Lewes Fire Department, First Town, First State, Delaware Beaches
Hats off to the ladies organizing, separating, and boxing all the donations that have been dropped off at the Lewes Fire Department, Sta. 1, located at 347 Savannah Rd., Lewes, Delaware.
Their names? Sarah, Nina, Marcia, Linda, Ellen, Pat, Debi, and Kathy. Together, with the help of the community, they are making it happen. Donations for all of those in need.
For sale today…hot dogs, chili, hot chocolate, drinks, and baked goodies.
They told me that LED lanterns are needed. They are brighter. Also, extension cords, batteries, flashlights, and blankets.
The Donation Drive will be back in business tomorrow morning, and Friday until about 2:30 or 3:00 p.m. It is at that time when they will be loading the truck to be taken on the Cape May-Lewes Ferry to Cape May, New Jersey. The Cape May Fire Department will meet the truck, unload the boxes and they will be taking care of the distribution.
Again, if you live in the area, please check your closets and see what you can come up with.
To the ladies and other helpers working so hard to make life a little easier for those who need us the most, at this time, we give you our most sincere thanks.
Have a good one!!
