I can feel it in the air. My daffodils are blooming, they are no longer scared of another frost. The Delaware Beaches are looking good. Driving around owners of establishments are working hard. Afterall, life at the beach is pretty awesome. Don’t take it for granted, believe me. I know Southern Delaware is special.
Two events in Rehoboth Beach, aka The Nation’s Summer Capital are bringing plenty of visitors to our beaches this week-end. There are plenty of other events, but these ones are very special.
REHOBOTH BEACH MAIN STREET “4TH ANNUAL GET DOWN IN TOWN” – Wine, Dine & Shop Local!! Friday, April 4th from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Enjoy great deals along with fantastic appetizers and desserts from your favorite restaurants inside participating Downtown Rehoboth Beach shops. $10 wristbands will benefit local charities. “SPLENDOR OF SPRING” – Celebrate the season with The Village Improvement Association (VIA) of Rehoboth Beach as they invite you to attend an afternoon of fashion and fun at its Fourth Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club on Saturday, April 5th.
This is a popular event featuring local stores with clothing modeled by VIA members. On the above photo with VIA models, Debbie Iammateo (one of my neighbors), and Melissa Thoroughgood, are Delaware State Senator Ernie Lopez, and 14th District State Representative and Speaker of the House Peter Schwartzkopf, who will be two of the escorts for the models in the fashion show.
