Rehoboth Beach, The Nation’s Summer Capital, Happy Fourth of July!, Parking, Delaware Beaches, Southern Delaware…Buses will Have Priority
The post on AboutMyBeaches on Wednesday, July 3rd, will tell you what’s going on from Dover, Delaware, to Ocean City, Maryland…plenty of celebrations on this 4th of July. Some of them are easier to get to and out of than others. Rehoboth can be tricky because of the amount of visitors attending the Fireworks.
One square mile and about 100,000…Where do you park? How do you get in and out of Rehoboth Beach? My recommendation is that you get there super early and stay late. Enjoy the pre and post concerts by The Funsters at the Bandstand.
But, the Town of Rehoboth Beach recommends that you use one of the 2 shuttle bus services providing transportation to the fireworks, including the Kiwanis shuttle buses of the DART Park & Ride buses. Both lots are located on Highway 1, near County Bank. You will see plenty of signs directing you to the parking lots.
The Kiwanis lot will provide Dawson school buses from 5 p.m. to midnight for a flat fee of $10 per car.
DART Park & Ride lot opens at 7 a.m. DART will run buses until 2:30 a.m. for a fee of $8 per car which includes 4 bus passes. Cash buses are $1 per trip.
Starting at 6 p.m. today, 4th of July, vehicles will be detoured for the first 2 blocks of Rehoboth Avenue. Later on all major intersections will be closed to all vehicles. An exception will be made for emergency and handicapped.
Meters and parking permits are in full effect. You don’t want a ticket on the 4th, do you?
Even if you park in the DART or Kiwanis lot, you can ride either bus out of town. Buses will have priority leaving Downtown Rehoboth Beach.
The Jolly Trolley will run from 8 a.m. until 2 a.m., with a revised route from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. The drop off and pick up is located behind Jack Lingo Realty Office on Christian at the Jolly Trolley uptown stop. More info? http://www.jollytrolley.com. Call 302-227-1197.
