Rehoboth Beach is doing one more rehearsal before it, officially, opens the 2012 Season.  If you are visiting this week-end, have fun, and enjoy the beach. 

Plenty of activities to pick and choose.  These are my picks:

 

 

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 5/18 – 5/20 – It is the 29th Annual Spring Sidewalk Sales.  This is an annual trip for many that are looking for bargains.  9 a.m. until 9 p.m.  Deals and more deals and, hopefully, fabulous finds.  Shop Downtown Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach, and Rt. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 5/18 – 5/20  –  The Third Annual Peppers Tailgate Party from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.  20,000 FREE chicken wings.  They will be made by famous local restaurants and over 65 champion chefs from around the country.    Location?  The Galleria Shopping Center at 18701 Coastal Highway. It is next to the Roadhouse.  Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.  Tel. 1-800-998-3473. 

Get great cooking tips from famous TV chefs.  Talk to the World Ribs Champions, Watch 2 Guinness World Records being set.  Take pictures with the World Sauce Champions.  Help Mountaire Farms crown the new champ.  You Be The Judge.  Six different Delaware State Wing Champions.  Most Unusual, included.  Find Peppers on Twitter and Facebook.  Visit their website, http://www.peppers.com.

 

Friday, 5/18 – Feed Me! Little Shop of Horrors. Based on the cult classic 1960’s film of the same name, the hit pop-rock musical!  Presented by Clear Space Theatre Co. On this particular night, it is “Pay What You Can Night”.  Please check the website, http://www.clearspacetheatre.org for more information.  Saturday, May 19th’s performance will be at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, the performance will be at 3 p.m.

Clear Space Theatre is located at 20 Baltimore Avenue in Downtown Rehoboth Beach.

AUDITIONS:  General & Children’s Theatre Auditions – Step into the Spotlight!!  Clear Space is holding 2 auditions on Saturday, 5/19 at 10 a.m.  Doors will open  for performers of all ages for a general audition.  This audition will serve as a search for new performers for their upcoming season, beginning with SCROOGE!  Those auditing should prepare a song and monologue, as well as prepared to participate in a dance call.

Saturday, 5/19 – The First Annual Paint The Town Pink!  Appetizers, Drinks, Prizes for the Best Pink Outfits!! It is sponsored by CAMP Rehoboth Community Center, Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, and Sherwin Williams.

There will be a reception, art sale, and dinner auction to benefit The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition in partnership with CAMP Rehoboth.

Local artists’ work will be displayed and offered for sale.  The auction will be dinners for two from our own local Rehoboth area restaurants!!

Saturday, 5/19 – Summer Kick Off Garden Party from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. for the Rehoboth Beach Historical Society’s Canalside Party at the Rehoboth Beach Museum.  Lite fare, beer & wine, music, and even a chance to win a prize.  For tickets, please call 302-227-7310.  $25 for members and $35 for non-members.

Plants for sale to fill that last empty spot in your garden.  It is going to be beautiful so soak up that sun, while listening to music.  The highlight will be the presentation of the Hall of Fame award to Mollie Vardell.

 

Sunday, 5/20 – The DE-feet Breast Cancer 5K Run/Walk is a fun and spirited event hosted by the Tanger Outlets to benefit the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition.  For All Ages!!  Rain or Shine at 36470 Seaside Outlet Drive in Rehoboth Beach.  More info?
