Delray Beach, For Sale, 2BD Condo, Waterfront, Boating Community, Tennis, Swimming, 24 Hour Guard Service, Florida Living! South Florida, Palm Beach County

I have been to my friend’s townhouse so many times.  And, she is selling it through Ann Alexander & Associates. Tel. 561-573-7168.  Website?  http://www.annalexanderfl.com.

When my friends, Cindi, and Madelon and I stopped last week to say hello and have a bite to eat, I decided that even though she has a realtor, word of mouth through social media has proven that it does get the message through.  We are all so connected in many ways….at times too many.  Nevertheless, if you are looking in South Florida, you might want to check this property out.

Anita’s condo is at 210 Captains #716.  The community provides, boating, tennis, swimming pools, yacht club, exercise facility and 24 hr. guard service.  The selling price does not include all these facilities, though.  The listing price is $376,000.  The condo has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and one half bath on the first floor.  It is 1,749 square feet.  There are also stairs to have in mind.

Captain’s Walk is very well maintained.  We arrived and parked in the guests parking spaces.

dscn8784

Her entry is quaint and we were so glad to see plants thriving in the Florida sunshine.  After the winter we have had up north seeing color was so welcoming.

dscn8783dscn8781

Her condo is bright and with plenty of cross ventilation.  To the right the half bath, followed by the kitchen.

dscn8780dscn8779

The bright kitchen has a pass through to the spacious dining/living area.

dscn8776

dscn8777

Other angles from the living/dining area.

dscn8778

dscn8775

The sliding doors lead to a 14 x 8 screened porch, providing ample views of the C-15 Canal.

dscn8773

Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and 2 baths.

Second Bedroom

dscn8768

It is an easy condo to maneuver.  Going back downstairs to the main living area.

dscn8771

Please note that there are 2 HOA’s that are paid…Captains Walk and Pelican Harbor.  One for $270 and one for $276.00.

If you are interested, please call Ann Alexander & Associates to the tel. number above given and make an appt. to tour Anita’s Place.

Have a great day!

Annual Turkey Trot, Delray Beach, Florida, Fundraising, Event, Keith Straghn Feed the Hungry Thanksgiving Drive, The Village by The Sea, Palm Beach County, South Florida

dscn6472

It was early in the morning on Saturday, November 23rd.  It has been happening every year for the past 27 years, when Delray Beach gets ready for a Turkey Trot.  It is a benefit for the Keith Straghn Feed the Hungry Thanksgiving Drive for the needy families of Delray Beach.  So, spectators, runners, walkers and trotters were ready.  This event was sponsored by the City of Delray Beach.

dscn6461

On the photo….don’t know what kind of outfit that guy was wearing…

There was not a soul on A1A…that was hard to believe.  Usually, on a holiday week-end, there are plenty already walking or trying to get the best parking spaces for another stay at the gorgeous beach in Delray.

dscn6468

And the corner of A1A and Atlantic Avenue was blocked off for the runners.

dscn6475

The destination where all were located was 340 S. Ocean Blvd. at Anchor Park.  The runners and walkers were checking in.

dscn6457

The essentials like food and water…

dscn6458

dscn6463

The actual race had a starting time of 7:30 a.m. on Gleason.

dscn6489

dscn6490

And off they went…

dscn6492

This year there were over 500 participants, fundraising for those less fortunate.

dscn6496

Mark your calendars because this race happens the Saturday before Thanksgiving.  More info?  Please call Keith Straghn at 561-305-1744.

And remember to stop back for some fruit and goodies after the race.

Destination, Delray Beach, Beach Events, Keep PBC Beautiful, Beach Clean-up, Sports on the Beach, South Florida, Palm Beach County

dscn5634

Usually the action is on Atlantic Ave., but early in the morning that was not the case.  Too quiet!!  Everyone was on the beach, as another beautiful day in the Village by the Sea was developing.

dscn5599

The full moon was still there, but the sun was definitely out.  A little less humid than in the past couple of days.  One person said “Fall is here”, I was already perspiring…maybe 85 degrees?

dscn5623

The early risers were getting ready for a little surf-fishing.

dscn5603

The others were exercising on the beach.

dscn5606

Me?  I was just taking a walk and taking the beach in…the palm trees, the ocean breezes, and the salty air.

Groups were pouring into the beach….it was Beach Clean-Up in Delray Beach with Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful.  For more info. visit http://www.keeppbcbeautiful.org.

dscn5624

They had trash bags, gloves, and a list of things to find.  It was going to be a fun day on the beach for everyone.

dscn5615

dscn5619

Delray Beach is pretty big and there is room for everyone.  The teams were assembling and games of volleyball were getting underway.

dscn5632

dscn5631

dscn5633

Having breakfast in one of the restaurants that are right on A1A is a favorite of many in the a.m.

dscn5628

Wow, the seagrapes are plentyful this year…next post.

Talk to you later.

Shopping, Unique Boutique, Delray Beach, Florida, Jewelry, Accessories, Handbags, Shoes, The Village By The Sea, Palm Beach County, South Florida

dscn5550

Just as you find plenty of restaurants and art galleries in Delray Beach, Florida, you will also find many boutiques and small specialty shops, as well.  From jewelry and accessories to homegoods, Delray Beach offers visitors a must do shopping experience.

dscn5536

So, as I waited for my friend, Danika and her constant companion, Prince Pierre, I strolled Atlantic Avenue.  What got my attention was the handbag on the window and the necklace.  Then I stepped in and met Arnona Cohen, who is the Manager at Unique Boutique.

dscn5551

Unique Boutique is located at 204 East Atlantic Avenue in Downtown Delray.  Tel. 561-272-6654.  The store is owned by Kaaren Beaton, who also owns stores in Naples and Cape Cod.

dscn5546dscn5547

The shop has just enough…high end jewelry, handbags, shoes, and accessories.

dscn5538

dscn5540

Arnona and I were just shooting the breeze; nothing in particular.  A little of her life, my life; pretty much a friendly chat.

The shops in Delray Beach stay open at night.  Stroll them before or after dinner to pick up a little something from your trip to The Village by The Sea.

dscn5544

Check out the sale corner, as well.

dscn5548

Have a Good One!!

Pizza Rustica, Delray Beach, Gourmet Pizza, Delivery, Eat In, Take Out, South Florida, Palm Beach County

When you think of it, pizza is a complete meal.  Bread, veggies, and protein.  And, for those with a gluten allergy; what’s out there is not the same, but it is getting better, definitely.

My guests were hungry in Delray, so a call to Pizza Rustica was in order.  It is located at 1155 E. Atlantic Avenue, one block from A1A and Delray’s famous beach.  Tel. 561-279-8766.  Website?  http://www.pizzarusticaldelray.com.

Pizza Rustica does deliver, even if it is a few slices (square slices)…a minimum of 3.

Arriving to pick up our well done pizza, we waited for about 5 or 10 minutes.  It was a busy place.

dscn2673

Pizza Rustica has about 27 choices of pizza.  They sell by the slice, medium with a thin crust, extra large with a thin crust and a very large pan pizzaa, as well.  Salads are also big at Pizza Rustica.

Our choices were:

A traditional American Pizza – They were hungry.  No waiting allowed for a little photo.

dscn2677

The Marguerita was traditional with plum tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, herbs and garlic pesto with garden grown basil.

dscn2676

And, the Provencal had a combination of roasted peppers and garlic, over plum tomato sauce and mozzarella with fresh basil, Roma tomatoes and French goat cheese.

dscn2675

Gone in no time…all thought they were very good, and a larger pizza pie than usual!

Arts & Crafts, Food, Music…Destination? The Delray Affair, Delray Beach, Florida

dscn2654

This past week-end was the 51st Delray Affair, in the Village by the Sea, also called, Delray Beach!!  After the rainy Friday, Saturday and Sunday proved to be that Delray Beach was at total capacity.

The beach in Delray looks fantastic.  A lot of work has been done to the beach and it shows.  It is so wide; the sand so soft; the water is still so clear.

dscn2656

But, during the Delray Affair visitors and residents alike were in Downtown Delray Beach.  The streets were opened to pedestrians.

dscn2631

The Delray Affair is the largest arts and crafts festival in the Southeastern U.S.  It showed with multitude of people walking shoulder to shoulder.

dscn2640

Festivals bring food.  At the Delray Affair there was plenty to taste.

dscn2634

dscn2632

The cheesecake and berries on a stick caught my attention.

dscn2639

dscn2638

This vendor really captured our group’s attention….The Man Apron!!  Plenty of raunchy comments!!

dscn2652

After The Man Apron…some wine tasting was needed.

dscn2647

Jason Colannino was attracting a big crowd.  He plays at the Sundy House in Delray Beach.  He was really good.  For more information, please visit http://www.jasoncolannino.com

dscn2649

At the end of the day….taking a break on the beach was all we needed, and pizza from Pizza Rustica to follow.

dscn2668

Talk to you later.

Teriyaki, Tempura, Sushi, and Sashimi; the cuisine offered by Ziree Thai & Sushi; fresh and delicious.

dscn2332

They open for lunch and for dinner.  Take out is available.

The bar offers wine, Thai and Japanese beers, and Sake.

I have been following this restaurant since they opened about 8 years ago.  Since the beginning, it has been a local’s favorite.

My family makes a point to stop by for dinner every time we are in Delray Beach.

It has a casual atmosphere, friendly owners and staff.  I feel totally at home.

dscn2329

Tonight stopping for a quick dinner I ordered the Spicy Conch Salad.  It had masago, scallions, cucumbers and spicy mayo.  I few customers stopped by to see what I was eating.  It was so refreshing and being that it was a balmy night in South Florida….it was perfect.  No more words are necessary, the photo says it all.

dscn2327

Then a little Sashimi Morin, a combo, completed by dinner.

dscn2330

Perfectly satisfied, it was time to head home.

Ziree Thai & Sushi can be found on Facebook.  And, they do offer gift certificates.
