The dark chocolate is a favorite, but the milk chocolate…you have to try it. So smooth. Then, the combination with nuts and sea salt renders a toffee that is totally addictive.

But, today, Friday, December 2oth they will be at the Berlin Farmers’ Market on Harrison Avenue behind the Berlin Fire Company. I believe they attend the market frequently. The Berlin Farmers’ Market opens 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. year-round.
The chocolates come in gift boxes of 2 ounces, 6 ounces or 12 ounces. They also offer gift bags of 4 ounces, 8 ounces, or 16 ounces. They ship, as well.

Friday, 9/27 – Paranormal 101 Class starting at 7:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at The Milton Historical Society, when they host Rick Coherd, CEO and founder of Delmarva Historic Haunts. This will be an introductory class about paranormal events, activities, and investigation. There will be a presentation and item demonstrations.

Saturday, 9/28 – Boats, Buttons, Beans, & Beer!! – Walking & Brewery Tour in Milton from 10 a.m. until Noon. The Milton Historical Society and Dogfish Head Brewery provide a joint historical walking tour and brwery tour in Milton.
Milton was originally known as the “Head of the Broadkill” and enjoys a rich heritage. The walking tour reviews the town’s early history and includes a lively discussion of the ship captains and seafaring men who called Milton home.
The tour will also include a history of the King Cole Cannery, part of the site where Dogfish Head Brewery is located.
The tour will last about 2 hours. From 10 a.m. to 10:45 walking outdoors, 11 a.m. until Noon…the Brewery tour. The walk will cover a little over a mile. Sturdy, closed-toe walking shoes are required. ID is required for the beer tasting after the brewery tour. The tour is limited to 15 people. The cost is $5 for non-MHS members and free for members. Saturday, 9/28 – 1st Annual Corn to Run – 5K Run/Walk at the East Coast Garden Center and the Cordrey Center, located at 30366 Cordrey Rd. in Millsboro. This unique 5K is a 3.1 mile course that will wind throughout a 200 acre corn field across from the East Coast Garden Center. Proceeds will be donated towards their young gardener program, which encourages elementary students to get outdoors and engage in healthy and productive activities. Passing through Em-ing’s I took a sharp turn when I saw the sign of Pig Roast Today. I had forgotten that every last Friday of the month there is a pig roast going on at this most popular B-B-Q place.
They are located on the Corner of Rt. 113 and Rt. 610. If you are traveling south on 113 look for it after the Selbyville exit. You cannot miss it. Tel. 410-352-5711. So…there I was staring at the 200 lb. roasted pig. You get 2 sides with it; your choice of various items.

Anyway, that’s all I have to tell you. They will serve the roasted pig until it is all gone.
But, don’t despair…another one will be on the last Friday of October.

Rehoboth Beach is a year-round destination. It is known for its beaches, restaurants and that casual atmosphere we all seek when we hit the beach. It is a very walkable town. At this time of the year, it is even better. Just park and take off walking…no meters; Hurray!!
So many stores. You can find gifts for any occasion. Some of the shops are located in quaint vintage houses that were, at some point, homes to some of the residents in Rehoboth Beach.

What’s neat about the Show House in Downtown Rehoboth Beach is that it changes, practically, every week. It is a source of inspiration for some…for others is a great place to shop. I think the Show House offers a more casual look. We are at the beach, afterall. The Main Showroom in Selbyville offers furniture, accessories, and art, from traditional to coastal.
J. Conn Scott has designers that are always available to help you. The help of a designer can help reduce cost, time and energy.
I was looking for a wedding present. I knew what I wanted. So, when I stopped by, it was not with the idea of writing a post for my blog. But, then, I could not help it. The store looked great. I took one picture, then another….then I could not stop. This is how the Show House looks this week.

I have friends that go every single week-end. From Memorial Week-End through the Labor Day Week-end you can enjoy all kinds of outdoor musical programs. Under the stars, this venue is so popular. All you need to bring, most of the time, is your chair, a blanket and your friends. This coming week-end, the performances come to an end.
If you are visiting our Delaware Beaches, this might be your opportunity. From Ocean City, Maryland it is just a short drive. Just turn west on Rt. 54 and follow it for about 4 miles. Entrance by Harris Teeter, which is the intersection of Rt. 54 and Rt. 20. Drive into the community of Bayside, proceed on Americana Parkway, all the way to the back. You won’t miss it.

Saturday, 9/1 – The Bronx Wanderers – Doo-Wop Celebration. This performance, is, apparently, SOLD OUT. The liberating sound of doo-wop and rock and roll…you know toe-tapping, hand clapping and dancing.
Sunday, 9/2 – Great Big Faces with Paul Merklein (Kids) – His unique show combines art, comedy and audience participation. His show is described as Amazing, A Huge Hit, and Funny & Cool, by people who have seen it; its fans!! 10:00 a.m. until Noon.
Sunday, 9/2 – MSO Fireworks Season Finale – 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. – A program of vocal instrumental favorites including selections from Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story. The internationally recognized Morgan State University Choir and Opera Workshop, the Mid-Atlantic Symphony and Maestro Benichou will be entertaining you at Bayside on this last night of the Summer of 2012 Season.

Soon we will be entering our Second Season, here at the Delaware Beaches. Every town has something going on most week-ends. It is a matter of finding what interests you. You can do as little or as much. To tell you the truth, it is the best time at the beach. And, it does get crowded but not crazy. Warm water, everything open. Oh, well, the meters are still on-going for a couple of more months. Not everything is perfect; almost, though.
If you have not stopped by to see a performance at The Freeman Stage, is about time you attend one. Performances are under the stars, weather permitting. Bring your chair, neighbors, friends and family.

2,000 tickets have been for sale. You still might have a chance to see the B-52’s, tonight at the Freeman Stage. This is an open air performing arts venue located just 4 miles west of Fenwick Island. Usually, you bring your chairs and sit out and listen to the evening’s entertainment. I was out and about today with no direction in mind when I decided to visit The Freeman Stage in Selbyville. This outdoor art venue is located at 31750 Lakeview Drive, Selbyville, DE. If you are at the Delaware or Maryland Beaches the best way to get there is to travel on Ocean Highway to Fenwick Island. At the intersection of Rt. 54 then go west for about 4 miles. When you see Harris Teeter turn towards it. It is also the entrance to Bayside, a golf community on the water, and where The Freeman Stage is located.
Upon entering the Bayside community then proceed straight on Americana Parkway. The outdoor theatre is on Town Lake at the intersection of Americana Parkway and Lakeview Drive.
Last year I had mentioned a few of the live entertainment that were on the schedule. After seeing how pretty it was today, I am definitely attending some of them. It must be gorgeous on a balmy summer night.
It is an outdoor setting; not a big stage. You can bring your lawn chairs, bug spray and blankets but leave behind your pets (unless service dogs are assisting patrons with disabilities) and your alcohol. If you wish to purchase alcoholic beverages, then do so at the Freeman Stage Cafe. No smoking, as well, and no recording equipment and cameras during the performances unless by authorized press and personnel.
The summer event calendar is out and you can take a look at it by visiting www.freemanstage.org. If you decide you want to attend a performance, you can buy tickets through the website. You may also purchase general admission tickets for $10 per person, per performance when the gates open at 5 p.m. The website has all that info. and more.

One thing to remember is that since this is an outdoor venue, it is subject to the weather. You can visit their website for cancellations or call the above mentioned telephone number.
This will be their 4th season and the opening act will be on May 28th with a Memorial Day celebration featuring Zany Umbrella Circus. It will be for the whole family. Patriotic celebrations will highlight the day; circus illusions and acrobatics. It will be on that Saturday of the Memorial week-end starting at 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. It will be FREE!!
If you are a fan of LeAnnRimes, then she will be appearing on Saturday, 6/25 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $40 plus. The Freeman Stage is inviting all of us to spend an intimate evening under the stars with one of the biggest country stars.
You will be impressed with their schedule; a little bit for everyone to enjoy.
