Peruccis, Classic, Italian Restaurant, Millville, Delaware, Review, Southern Delaware, Delaware Beaches

Love checking out restaurants on a Wednesday. They are less crowded and so we did driving over towards Bethany Beach and going west to the new location of Perucci’s. 35715 Atlantic Ave., Millville, Delaware.

Perucci’s moved to this location almost a year ago. The former location was so quaint; not sure how this new one would be.

The restaurant is in the back building of this address. You can park there or in the front and walk back.

You should make reservations by calling 302-829-8727. They are also on Facebook. Website? http://Peruccis.com

Pleasantly surprised as we came in. It is warm and welcoming. To the left they have a nice size bar.

We like to eat late and arriving at Perucci’s this is how it looked.

And this other photo is a little later on?

Drinks followed. A simple dressed salad I had. It was so fresh with a Vinaigrette Dressing.

The eggplant parmigiana arrived. The eggplant was slightly breaded. Very good and a healthy portion too.

The Brussels sprouts were cooked the way I like them; soft and tender.

I really like Piccata and this time was the Veal Piccata. Capers, lemon, you know how it is. Enjoyed it?

A very nice evening enjoying our local restaurants once again.

AboutMyBeaches is on Facebook and Instagram. Check us out.

Perucci’s, Classic Italian, Restaurant, Review, Millville, Delaware, Southern Delaware, Delaware Beaches, Good Food, Will Travel

I laughed when I wrote Good Food, Will Travel. The traveling from Rehoboth Beach to Bethany Beach and then west to Millville takes no time. All the beaches are closed to each other. Well, in the summer it may take a bit longer during the week. You know how it is. This particular Memorial Weekend like the usual ones, the weather will not cooperate for the most part. So, what is there to do? Shop and Eat!!

I love going out on Wednesdays. It seems that it is a quieter day of the week to enjoy the local restaurants. I think at this time of the year you need to call and make a reservation for most restaurants. Also, because the lack of help some may be closed Monday and Tuesday.

Perucci’s is located at 3507 Atlantic Ave., Millville, DE. Tel. 302-829-8727. Website? http://www.peruccis.com

An old building reminiscing of a Trattoria somewhere else. I feel I have to have a Chianti every time I step into, this small and very quaint restaurant. It is a family restaurant that has been opened for many years and their family recipes are delicious.

It was crowded but we had a reservation. I like to eat late so the reservation was for 8 p.m.

A Malbec from Fableist was truly amazing. I probably could have had the wine and just the bread. OMG it was so good. Warm and accompanied with very good olive oil.

A order of Calamari Fritti for the table. Perfect portion for sharing. Flash fried, chipolte cocktail sauce, citrus aioli, and spicy chili aioli. Tender and truly lightly flash fried.

I liked their Caesar Salad and have had it before. Perfect way to get your palate cleansed if you would call it that way. To me salads prior to the entree cleanse your taste buds. They call it Knife & Fork Caesar. Pecorino and garlic croutons.

An entree of Gamberetti con Aglio e Vino. Shrimp, white wine sauce with garlic and olive. For true pasta eaters this dish was simple but impacted great flavor.

My order of Veal Scallopini al Piccata. I loved it for many reasons. The combination of lemon, capers and wine sauce was light and simple, as well. The amount of pasta was just right too. Not an over abundance but a perfect serving.

While it was storming in Rehoboth Beach on Wednesday our dinner was memorable and cannot wait to go again.

A shout to Daniel who took care of us so nicely.

Have a great week-end.

“A good friend is a connection to life, a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world.”   loise wyse

And that’s how my evening started, with good friends….our choice of restaurant?  Perucci’s located at 33507 Atlantic Avenue, Millville, Delaware.  Millville is located a couple of miles west of Bethany Beach.  It is a breeze to get there at this time of the year.  During the season, it might take you a bit longer.  Rt. 26 can get busy.  Tel. 302-829-8727.  Make reservations; Perucci’s is not big; it is popular.  Website?  http://www.peruccis.com.

This is a very charming old building.   It has been been the Millville Post Office in the past and it has also been a gas station, if I remember correctly.

I have been passing the restaurant for some time.  I never thought my husband could eat there.  Having to eat gluten free…Italian restaurants can be a little tricky.  But at Perucci’s you can substitute gluten free pasta and dishes that are gluten free, are labeled as such.  Jim, the owner confirmed it.  So, if you have to eat gluten free, don’t be scared….they will be able to take care of you.

It was packed when we arrived, but by the time we finished, we had Perucci’s all to ourselves.  It was the perfect time to take pictures.

Tracy was our server.  She was right on target with her suggestions.

We started with a Pizza Margherita, Sunday sauce, mozzarella cheese, and fresh basil.  It was thin and crispy.  Perfect!!

How could we not have calamari?  Of course we ordered the Calamari Fritto, flash fried, pepperoncini, chipolte cocktail sauce, citrus aioli, and spicy chili aioli.   Light, with sauces that made your taste buds do a little dance.

dscn1954

A few of the house salads were ordered…Insalata della Perucci which consisted of organic baby greens, tomatoes, Pecorino, and sherry vinaigrette.

I ordered the Eggplant Parmigiano over linguine…eggplant, mozzarella cheese and a choice of sauces: creamy pesto, Alfredo, Vodka or Sunday sauce.  I chose the Sunday sauce and it really looked and tasted amazing with the eggplant perfectly cooked…..guess what?  I was talking so much I forgot to take the picture.  Take my word…it was very good.

One of my friends ordered just meatballs.  She was perfectly happy with a salad and meatballs for dinner.  She did not forget the Sunday sauce either.

Another friend’s dinner choice was the Scaloppini al Marsala.  She chose the chicken, with a Marsala mushroom sauce.  She ordered it over Gluten Free pasta.

dscn1958

Another of the same was ordered but regular pasta was chosen…..see the difference?  One is curly….taste the difference?  Could not taste a difference!!

dscn1959

We were perfectly satisfied but when Tracy mentioned desserts….well those sweet endings were hard to resist.  We decided on the Tiramisu, which was all homemade…wonderful light and we shared it.  Beautiful layers!!

Perucci’s is cozy inside.  An intimate setting.  Even though the tables are near to each other, we felt very comfortable talking and feeling right at home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.  Everyone was friendly and the service was prompt.  Perucci’s has specials throughout the week.  Check out the above mentioned website.

I will certainly go back….too many dishes to still try, including the gluten free ones.

Having dinner with a group of friends is and will always be priceless!

Have a good one!!
