Bethany Beach, Delaware, the Quiet Resort as it is also known, is full of activities and entertainment for the whole family. This coastal resort has a Bandstand and a Boardwalk. They are the life of Bethany Beach. During the day, swimming and other ocean related activites….Summer 2014 is definitely here!
But, in the evenings the ourtdoor performances at the Bandstand are not to be missed. You will get the small town atmosphere of Bethany Beach.
The performances are free. You can bring your own chairs, as well, but there are plenty of benches.
All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
Besides musical entertainment, movies are also shown on the beach every Monday night at dusk, off Garfield Parkway and bonfires are held every Thursday at dusk, off Campbell Place. Exercise schedules are also posted on http://www.townofbethanybeach.com. Just click on the tab that says “Movies on the Beach” for movie titles and ratings. The exercises are posted under “Summer Exercise Classes”.

It is Sunday, June 29th and tonight’s performers will be Electric Velvet…genre of Rock and Pop.
Tuesday, July 1st – “Dancing through the Decades” with DJ Batman. Dance the night away on the Bethany Beach Boardwalk with music from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s from 7 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
Wednesday, July 2nd – Uncle Pete with kids on the Bandstand from 7:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Thursday, July 3rd – National Guard Army show Band from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. followed by a bonfire at dusk on the beach at Campbell Place.
Friday, July 4th – Happy 4th!! Parade at Noon with bands, horseshoe-throwing contest at 2 p.m., awards ceremony at 7:15 p.m…..FIREWORKS AT DUSK!
Saturday, July 5th – The Stims…genre of Rock/Pop
Sunday, July 6th – Sarah Williams, Singer and Songwriter.

I cannot believe we are into August and the following 2 weeks will be the most visited weeks at the Delaware Beaches. Yes, almost time to start school. I love the commercials on t.v. showing parents so happy and children with long faces. Bethany Beach is definitely a family town. It is so great to see families walking around town and enjoying what this town has to offer.
The Bandstand is a happening place in Bethany and the following are the activities and events for the coming days:
Thursday, 8/12 – It is the last day for Talent Show Registration. The Talent Show will be on Friday, 8/20. Time restrictions limit the number of acts. First come first serve. Applications available in Town Hall and on www.townofbethanybeach.com/activities.
Friday, 8/13 -Joe Baione Jazz uintet. Making his mark on the jazz scene, with powerful and energetic performances. At 7:30 p.m. on the Bandstand. Please check this artist’s website www.joebaione.com.
Saturday, 8/14 – Over Time – Rock N’ Roll at 7:30 p.m. at the Bandstand.
Sunday, 8/15 – The Jamboree Boys will be performing at 7:30 p.m. at the Bandstand.
Friday, 8/13, Saturday, 8/14 and Sunday, 8/15 – Bethany Beach Bandstand Yoga at Sunrise. There is a drop in fee. 6 a.m. until 7 a.m. At the Bandstand. For more info. please call 302-537-7838 or visit www.bethanybeachyoga.org.
Sunday, 8/15 – Bethany Beach Farmers’ Market just like every Sunday until Sept. 5th, and from 8 a.m. until Noon. Location: Bank parking lot at the corner of Pennsylvania Ave. & Garfield Parkway.

Bethany Beach is where my children grew up. This town is so popular with families. Even at the height of the season, when it is so crowded, you still can feel that small town atmosphere.
It is small but it has great entertainment for all its visitors and here is what is happening in Bethany Beach this week:
Wednesday, 7/28 and Thursday, 7/29 – It is the 19th Annual Beach & Bay Cottage Tour to benefit the Friends of the South Coastal Library. The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at the South Coastal Library, 43 Kent Ave., Bethany Beach, DE 19930.

This event has been selling out since 2000 so get your tickets as soon as possible.
Wednesday, 7/28 – 1st State Harmonizers will be performing at the Bandstand. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. This is a men’s barbershop choral group. They preserve the barbershop music as an art form. It is a style of a cappella, or unaccompanied vocal music.

Friday, 7/30 – The City of Fairfax Band will be performing at the Bandstand. It will start at 7:30 p.m. The Band is celebrating its 40th year anniversary. The programs are varied and present the best in classical transcriptions, wind band music, military and marches, show tunes and much more.
Saturday, 7/31 – Randy Lee Ashcraft & The Saltwater Cowboys will be performing at the Bandstand at 7:30 p.m. This is country music and the performance is new this year at the Bethany Beach Boardwalk.
Sunday, 8/1 – A Buddy Holly Tribute at the Bandstand from 7 – 9 p.m.
