Saturday, June 21st – The Historic Lewes Farmers’ Market opens at 8 a.m. until Noon.  It presents the very best of what the month of June has to offer.  It takes place on the grounds of the Lewes Historical Society at 110 Shipcarpenter Street at the corner of West Third and Shipcarpenter Streets.  This market is the largest producer-only market in Delaware.  It was named, again, Best Farmers’ Market by Delaware Today.

There will be interesting things happening at the market besides the buying of beautiful flowers and produce.

At 9 a.m. Henry and Carrie Bennett of the Market’s own Bennett Orchards will discuss how they produce peaches but also blueberries.

At 10:30 a.m. National Pollinator Week will be celebrated.  Dave Baues of Baues’ Busy Bees will be answering all those questions you may have regarding how honey is harvested and how bee keepers care for bees and their hives.

Check their website, http://www.historiclewesfarmersmarket.org.

Note:  Only service animals are allowed at the Market.

I remember it well.  It was last Sunday when the temperatures were in the 50s.  Historic Lewes is pretty year round.  But, on that day it was just amazing.  People were outside, enjoying what visitors come here for; blue skies, the quaint towns, our beaches, our shops and our restaurants.

I decided to visit Josh.  He is the owner of Shorebreak, located at 115 Savannah Rd., Lewes, Delaware.  Tel. 302-6450-8488.  Website?  http://www.shopshorebreak.com. I visited him when he first started the store and now, after a couple of years in business, he has found success in his hometown.  Yes, he is a local guy!!

There are not that many men shops in our area, so it is great to showcase the ones that offer that casual type of clothing that go hand in hand with our relaxed way of living at the beach.

dscn1019

Shorebreak opens Thursday through Monday; 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.  During the summer season, they are open every day.
