I have so many photos of the Delaware Beaches….inland bays, ocean, beaches….the Indial River Inlet.  I never get tired of looking at them.

It was about 4:45 p.m. and the sun was setting.  I went back to see that gorgeous Christmas Tree.  It is going to be so festive, here in Rehoboth Beach when Friday, November 28th, the festivities officially opening the Holiday Season will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a Sing-Along.

The lighting ceremony will start at 7:00 p.m.  Thanks to Harriet Magee of Rehoboth Beach for her generous donation of the tree.  It is truly what a Christmas Tree should look like.

Today it was so warm.  The beach at dusk was beautiful.

The Boardwalk is taking a well deserved rest…..all decorated for the Christmas…

The Holidays are very popular here in Rehoboth Beach…plenty of visitors will come this Second Season to shop, dine and kick back.  For those of us living at the beach, the ocean offers you a sense of well being.  Love it and do not take it for granted.

Delray Beach, Florida, Parade, Floats, Kids, Dogs, South Florida, Palm Beach County

Back home, in Delaware, the parades are over and done with.  Usually, it is so cold; again that is exactly what happened this year.

I knew Delray Beach was going to have their paraded this evening so I just took a walk to the line up.  It was amazing to see Atlantic Avenue already closed up.  This town does parades and festivals like no other.  Bob Barricades comes on the scene and nobody can drive through Atlantic Avenue for a few hours.

There were so many kids and all looked anxious.  Ready to start the parade.  Well, the parade was not starting for another hour.  It was a bit chaotic; floats needed to be finished on the spot.

Then I saw her.  I think it was a “she”.  Wow she was just patiently waiting for her float to be finished.  I could not help but watch her.

She was part of the Florida Red Cross Disaster Relief Group.

She looked up, almost like saying “they made me come”.

Then she got up and I am sure she was thinking “let’s get this show on the road”.

And back down she went, taking a snooze.

I kept on walking and my thoughts went to community involvement, traditions and family; parades are still with us when so many of other traditions have been long forgotten.

The sign around Delray Beach are all about the holidays; but this particular one I wish to all.

Talk to you later…..
