After months of constant work to put such an event Annie Raskauskas is actually ready. A cause so dear to her heart….
Volunteers gathered at Bethany Area Realty on Rt. 26 in Bethany Beach to rally and also to get their orders. Others, showed up to sign up. There is still plenty of time to register. Just arrive at the Bandstand in Bethany Beach on Saturday between 7 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
There was much anticipation….The theme this year is Take a Swing Against Breast Cancer. So, needless to say, hot dogs and all the trimmings associated with baseball were there.
Annie welcomed all of the volunteers that have been helping her over the years back. The new volunteers got a sense of family atmosphere. We talked, laughed and said hello to some that have not been seen in a long time.

It does not matter if it rains or shine, this annual event will go on as scheduled for Saturday, May 10th.
Please note that pre-registration is available online until May 8th and costs $25 for adults and $15 for children 10 and under. FREE t-shirts are guaranteed for those that pre-register. You can also register on the day of the event when sign-up and check-in begins at 7:00 a.m.

This year’s event theme: Take a Swing Against Breast Cancer. It is all about the cause, so just come and participate…4-legged friends can be included, as well. Remember that they have to be on a leash.
Looking forward for one of the best years ever for this Fun Run/Walk….Bethany Beach is the perfect spot for fund-raising. The town is somewhat quiet now, but on Saturday, May 10th, Bethany will be running, walking and celebrating.
Take a Swing Against Breast Cancer, 5K Fun Run/3K Walk will benefit this year, Beebe Healthcare Beebe Medical Foundation, Vance Kane Memorial Fund, and Little Pink Houses of Hope.
Prizes will be awarded for most spirited outfits. Dress in your best baseball gear…team, individual, strollers, wheelchairs, dogs!!!

On Friday, May 9th Packet Pick Up at Bethany Area Realty located at 778 Garfield Parkway (Rt. 26) in Bethany Beach.
Saturday, May 10th:
Same Day registration from 7 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.
Stretching at 8:45 a.m.
Announcements at 8:50 a.m.
Race Starts at 9:00 a.m.
At the completion of the race/walk a post event celebration will take place where Baseball/Ballpark style snacks will be provided along with great tunes by DJ Seaside Jimmy.
