Dewey Beach is the perfect summer town.  It has everything….the Atlantic Ocean to the east and Rehoboth Bay to the west, separated by Coastal Highway.

It is the playground for the young at heart and the more matured crowd.  It offers watersports, bars, music, entertainment, restaurants, and plenty of sunshine!!

Thursday, 5/30 – There is a Grand Opening Celebration and the public is invited!!  4 p.m. to 6 p.m.  The new Beach House Dewey is opening its doors!!  Their first summer in Dewey Beach.  The event is free and you will be able to check for yourselves what Beach House Dewey has to offer.  They will be serving light refreshments…live music by Chris Steele.

Beach House Dewey is a 47 room property that was acquired in 2012 by The Bernstein Companies, one of Washington D.C.’s oldest real estate development, investment, and hotel management organizations.  The hotel is located across from the Bottle & Cork, on 1710 Highway One (Coastal Highway).  Affordable accomodations with a smart, clean, and modern design to fit into the lifestyle is what the owners have expressed.

Thursday, 5/30 – The Bacon Brothers, Kevin and Michael will be performing at The Bottle & Cork on 1807 Highway 1 at 9 p.m.  You may get tickets through http://www.deweybeachlife.com.

Friday, 5/31 – Lez Zeppelin will be performing at The Bottle & Cork from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m.  Tickets are $15.

July 2nd – Junior Lifeguarding Program by the Dewey Beach Patrol, ages 6 – 16.  Sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.  Location?  Dewey Beach Lifesaving Station on Dagsworthy Street and the Beach, rain or shine.  There is a $20 registration fee.  Interested?  Check http://www.deweybeachpatrol.com.  Then, click on programs.  Tel. 302-227-6365

July 2nd – Youth Recreation by the Dewey Beach Patrol.  The program will be offered on an evening basis beginning at 5:15 p.m. and ending at sunset, weather permitting.  Location? The forecast does not sound too promising for our Beaches but nevertheless, there are Easter Egg Hunts that need to be taken care of.  We cannot disappoint the little ones.

 

Saturday, April 23rd is the 4th Annual Alley Oop Egg Scoop  Easter Egg Hunt

2 Separate Egg Hunts – One for ages 8 – 12 will start at 10 a.m.  The hunt for ages 2 – 7 will start at 12 Noon.

Location?  New Orleans St. Beach in Dewey Beach.  Rain or Shine. Prizes or candy in all eggs.

The GOLDEN egg will win 1/2 off week of skim camp.  Call 302-227-7087, or e-mail alleyoopskim@hotmail.com to register.  Please include child’s name age and e-mail address.  You can also register on Saturday.

All participants will receive 10% off in the Alley Scoop Shop, located at 2000 Hwy. One, Unit 106, Dewey Beach.  This is a skimboarding shop in business for 11 years.  Website?  www.alleyoopskim.com.

 

Sunday, 4/24 is the Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt at the Rusty Rudder located at 113 Dickinson St. 

The Brunch will start at 10:00 a.m. and it is $16.  Children 12 and under will pay $10 and children under 5 will pay $1 for each year of age.

The hunt will start at 2:00 p.m. and it is free.  There will be prizes and give-aways.
