Looking for a place to have breakfast before hitting the tax free shopping in Rehoboth Beach? Hopefully, the day will turn out at pretty as Friday, when Rehoboth Beach was a bit chilly but with a bright blue sky…..The award-winning Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk was quiet around 8:15 a.m. Believe me, I like it that way. Hard to believe how crowded it does get during the height of the season. On Friday, all Jody and I were doing was having breakfast at GreenMan.
GreenMan is a juice bar, and a bistro. Located at 12 Wilmington Ave., which is one street south of Rehoboth Avenue. They open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For sure you can count on them Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. They have been opening on Monday but it would be best to call 302-227-4909 to make sure. They will be open the day before and after Christmas, as well.
Cozy and comfortable inside…during the summer months outside on their porch…dining is the best!! Their website is http://www.greenmanjuicebar.com. Lots to choose; an extensive menu. Gluten free bread is available for those with a gluten allergy.
Homemade quiche for Jody….you can also order a whole quiche for those unexpected guests.
And, for me? I had a craving for smoked salmon. It was so good.
Have a great day!!

Looking for the handcrafted trees, that can be used for holiday decorations or to keep necklaces in order….I went to Tiger Lili located at 36706 Bayside Outlets in Rehoboth Beach. I found them!! Very cute and some either can be staked into the ground….
Tiger Lili has another location on the ocean block in Downtown Rehoboth Beach, but this was my first visit to this very trendy shop, located at the Bayside Outlets. Rehoboth Beach has many outlets and the majority are stores that are nationally known. Therefore, it is great to see that “shop local and shop small” can be incorporated into outlet shopping. Tiger Lili also ships, so if you see something that catches your attention in the following photos…..call them at 302-226-0400 so they can get it to you for the holidays.
Tiger Lili is fully stocked…comfortable shopping experience. The dressing rooms are great.
This post is for women only…you already can see that. I walked around the store and plenty of items got my attention. Women love to shop; it is part of our DNA. I asked…what is a best seller during the Holiday Shopping Season? Without hesitation…the Nicole Scarves and the “fleece leggins” with a little control top!!! They have so many colors and they are definitely selling.
Even though Tiger Lili has plenty of accessories….the necktie necklace is also a big seller this year.
Other necklaces…
Coats…
Handbags…
Ringing the New Year carrying something special at Tiger Lili’s affordable price is….they also have it in gold.
Happy Shopping!! 12 days until the big day!!

The secret ingredient for these cookies is the Ancho Chili Pepper. Actually, it is a great combination with the chocolate, giving the cookies a slight bite… So, when my neighbor sent them to me I thought today was the perfect evening to try them.
ANCHO CHILI PEPPER CHOCOLATE CRACKLED COOKIES
12 ounces semi-sweet baking chocolate, divided
3/4 cup flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon Ancho Chili Pepper
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 or 1/2 stick butter softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 teaspoons vanilla
Melt 8 ounces of the chocolate as directed on the package. I did it on the microwave.
Coarsely chop the remaining 4 ounces of chocolate. To tell you the truth, I ran out of the chocolate so I threw 4 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate morsels.
Mix flour, cinnamon, ancho chili pepper, baking powder and salt in a small bowl.
Beat butter and sugars in a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
Add melted chocolate, beat until well blended.
Gradually beat in flour mixture on low speed until well mixed.
Stir in chopped chocolate.
Drop by rounded tablespoon 1 1/2 inches apart on parchment paper lined baking sheets.
Bake in a pre-heated 375 degree oven for a bout 10 minutes or just until cookies are set and slightly cracked on top.
Transfer cookies to a wire rack or plate to cool completely.
Enjoy!!

It was quiet as I passed the other night St. Martin’s Church….not so much so on Friday, November 1st when the celebration of The Fall Feast of St. Martin took place. St. Martin’s Church is located at 11413 Old Worcester Highway, Showell, MD 21811.
I was looking forward to mingling with friends and stepping into the past.
The mood inside the tent was festive.
The food was delicious, combining the cuisine of the region, from farm to table and from the sea to the raw bar.
And plenty to choose for dessert.
Historic St. Martin’s Church is one of the oldest structures in Worcester County. It was built in 1756, 20 years prior to the signing of The Declaration of Independence.
This is the key that opens the doors to this historic church, built brick by brick. The importance of historic preservation…”St. Martin’s Church is considered by many historians to be the finest preserved, most significant piece of American history on the Lower Eastern Shore.”
The President of the Board of Directors is Mrs. Sherrie T. Beckstead. With her there are many that make possible the fundraising to keep the preservation on-going.
St. Martin’s Church is a museum. It is open to the public on a regular basis. Please visit http://www.historicstmartinschurch.org. Summer and fall bring open houses that are scheduled and staffed by volunteers. It is also available for private tours. It is a venue for historic weddings. Educational events like the Shakespeare performance of Romeo & Juliet are free to the public.
Take a look inside St. Martin’s. The pews have a history, as well….many of them were owned by area families.
A beautiful performance inside St. Martin’s by Vocalist Rachel Allman….the evening ended with the announcement of the raffle…a replica of the Key to St. Martin!!
Have a great day!!

For me, shopping small and local has always been something that I have enjoyed. I have plenty of friends that love going “mall” shopping….not for me. I like that up close and personal kind of service. Which brings me to NEST, located at 11 South Main Street in Historic Berlin, Maryland. Tel. 410-629-1030.
Driving to Berlin from Rehoboth Beach, takes about half hour. No big deal, it is the Second Season so there is no traffic. Strolling a historic town, checking what’s new during the holidays is pretty nice, so Jody and I did just that.
I think Petey is really the Mayor of Historic Berlin. He is such a hard working little dog. I have featured him before and once again here he is…..greeting the customers and making sure that Dee gets up and gives us that personal attention we were looking for. Now, you tell me…where would you find something like this in a “mall”? You gotta love it!!
Dee has been quilting. Her remnants have become quilts. The reverse of the quilts is soft and warm.
Dee calls her handmade handbags Boppyowl. She offers 2 sizes and they are made with beautiful rich fabrics, lined with contrasting colors.
NEST is an eclectic and funky shop. Every time you shop, there are surprises; local artwork, jewelry, home accessories. At this time of the year the shop is fully stock. Berlin’s 2nd Friday Art Stroll will be on Friday, 12/14, so make sure you make NEST one of your stops.
NEST carries unwined candles from Unwined Candle Co., located in Sykesville, Maryland….from recycled wine bottles.
NEST opens year-round. Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., Sunday from 12 until 4 p.m. You can find NEST on Facebook, as well.
Merry Christmas!!

Walking through Main Street in Manayunk in Philadelphia a window caught my attention. A consignment shop. The name of this shop was Greene Street Consignment, located at 4313 Main St., Philadelphia, PA 19127. Tel. 267-335-5478. I have found that this is not the only location….New York, New Jersey and other parts in Pennsylvania. Visit http://www.greenestreetconsignment.com.
Greene Street Consignment has a fresh take on the whole consignment shopping experience. This shop looked like a boutique, storefront included. Plenty of namebrands, but they are focused on style.
Next time I visit Manayunk I am definitely stopping by. I need to find out more about it.
Whether you are a shopper or consignor, just remember that recycling your clothes gives them another chance…don’t discard them, let someone else enjoy them a second time around.
Talk to you later.
