The town of Milton is located north of Lewes, Delaware.  In it you will find the most beautiful historical theatre.  I have written about it in the past ever since I, myself, discovered it just some months ago.

The Milton Theatre is located at 110 Union St., Milton, DE 19968.  Telephone is 302-684-3400.  The website is www.miltontheatre.org.

Friday, 7/16 – The Wellnet Foundation/Eden (Energize Delmarva Now) has a fundraising event starting at 6 p.m.

The Delmarva Community Wellnet Foundation is hosting this event as a launching party for its newest progam, Eden (Energize Delmarva Now), at the historic Milton Theatre.

DNREC Secretary Collin O’Mara will welcome Eden to Delaware.

Award-winning singer/songwriter, Doug James, will perform.

Learn how Eden will work to create a greener and economically sound Delaware.

Saturday, 7/17 – Comedy Game Night at 8 p.m.

Delmarva Broadcasting – Cool 101.5, Eagle 97.7, La Exitosa 930 AM, and the witty improvisational team from the Delmarva Comedy Theatre bring an evening of fun and games, literally.  Tickets are $10.

Sunday, 7/18 and Monday, 7/19 – Auditions at 7 p.m. for Moon Over the Brewery.

The Milton Theatre will hold auditions for Moon Over the Brewery and 4 actors are needed:

One woman – 30’s or early 40’s

One girl – 12 to 14 years of age

One man – 20’s

It is a romantic comedy set in a faded Pennsylvania mining town.  Waitress and single mom Miriam struggles to make ends meet and raise her genius teenage daughter, Amanda.

By night Miriam goes out into the hills around the small town to paint moonscapes, nothing but moonscapes.  She also quilts and a beautiful handstitched quilt is the ticket out for her daughter, if only the one rich person in town is willing to buy it.

The play is the story of Amanda’s struggle to leave her childhood behind and her mother’s struggle to find a life of her own while allowing Amanda to grow.

George Spillane is the Director.

Performances will be September 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26.

Rehearsals will begin August 1st.

Auditions will consist of readings from the playscript.

Have a great week-end and enjoy the beaches…
