If you take a closer look at this photo you might recognize friends. Center: Rick Keller, Nate Williams, Mary Ann Benyo, Helen Perez and Front Center: Amy Warick, and Jeff Hawtof.
Such an appropriate time for this post. If you reside here at the Beaches, you know that our communities have been hit hard by the passing of loved ones. Residents that have made a difference in the area. But, as life continues, the show must go on, as well.
Improv (improvisation) is a form of live theatre. Dialogue, plot, scene and the story line is developed in the moment. The actors, at times, take suggestions from the audience and really go “to town”, with it. They also draw inspiration from their own personal lives.
What is so unique and neat about it is that when you see that performance, there will never be another like it. It is so spontaneous, and very entertaining.
Delaware Comedy Theatre was formed in the Spring of 2005. The group has performed at the Philadelphia Improv Festival, The Dirty South Improv Festival, and the Baltimore Improv Festival. AUDITIONS FOR NEW MEMBERS – TUESDAY, AUGUST 26th – The auditions will take place at the Rehoboth Library located at 226 Rehoboth Ave. from 4 p.m. through 7:30 p.m. This audition is for performers with some acting or comedy experience, either in school or professionally, but nothing need be prepared for the audition in advance. The auditions will run in a workshop format, in order to see how individuals work together with other performers.
At this time, the auditions are for the above mentioned ages. Individuals over the age of 35 are welcome to email Artistic Director, David Warick at delcomedy@gmail.com, so that individual auditions can be arranged at a later date.
For interested participants, metered street parking is available. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing and be prepared to stay for the entire audition period. Please confirm your attendance or if you need further info. by emailing David Warick at delcomedy@gmail.com or calling 302-258-5443.
