It goes without saying that this is an outdoor event, so please, check the weather!!  But, it looks like a great week-end for the outdoor activities that define “fun” at the Delaware Beaches.

Paddle for a Purpose:  Horseshoe Crabs!!… It is a fundraising event with Coastal Kayak to benefit the Horseshoe Crab Conservation Fund. Horseshoe crab populations occupy an important ecological niche in estuarine and coastal habitats along the Mid-Atlantic coast.  Adult horseshoe crabs are food for sea turtles, sharks and terrestrial species such as racoons and foxes.  And, their eggs are a vital food source for shorebirds. The concentrations of shorebirds that come to feed on the eggs of the horseshoe crab are also important to the ecotourism industry of the Delaware Bay.
