Do you remember when it used to be called The Wellness Community Delaware?  Well, that name has been changed and it is now called Cancer Support Community Delaware.   The Mission?  That has stayed the same; to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community.  Cancer Support Community Delaware is the only organization in Delaware dedicated exclusively to helping people cope with and manage the emotional aspect of cancer.  They also focus on the cancer participants’ family and/or caregivers, including children and teenagers.

Cancer Support Community Delaware’ s programs are professionally led and provide emotional support, education and hope.  All programs are free of charge.  Funds raised in Sussex County stay here, in Sussex County, to help our neighbors.

There is a Countdown to the 2nd Annual Wings of Hope – A Butterfly Release, to benefit the Cancer Support Community Delaware.  It is going to be on Saturday, 9/15.  Rain date is Sunday, 9/16.  The event will be held at the Medical Arts Building, 18947 John J. I don’t think there is anyone that has not been touched by cancer.  Having friends going through treatments at this moment, makes this kind of fundraising event more personal.
