“Once loved treasures can be true joy to someone else.” Consignment shops sell second-hand items. Sometimes the profit is split 50/50 between the owner and the person that brought the merchandise in; others might have a different arrangement. One thing for sure is that consignment shops will only accept items that look like new.
There are many reasons to go to a consignment shop. If you are taking your own merchandise in, then you might be turning a cluttered house into cash. These shops are a business, not thrift shops; they do want to make a profit. The idea is to sell at the highest possible price with the customer still getting a good deal.
These shops are popular. Everyone wins and everybody likes a bargain.
Seaquels is a furniture consignment shop located at 4 Town Rd. (between the 2 World Gym buildings) in the town of Ocean View, Delaware. Ocean View is west of Bethany Beach, about 2 miles. This is their new address. They just moved last week. If you have visited the shop before, go in that same entrance but go towards the back of the buildings. There is plenty of parking.
Seaquels is owned by Cindy and Kathy. Tel. 302-829-8636. E-mail is seaquels@gmail.com. You can find Seaquels on Facebook like everyone else.
The first thing you will see is that Cindy and Kathy are so friendly. I feel like I have known them forever. Very easy to talk to and just as helpful.
Seaquels has great merchandise and it turns over quickly. The pictures of the merchandise you will see on this blog, might not be there next week. You can also ask Cindy and Kathy to be on the look-out for a specific piece. One thing for sure is that they do have very affordable prices.
This new building has great lighting and they can spread out. They just moved here so they are still placing furniture, art, plants, wall decor and basically, getting used to this much space.
So check out the store!! Seaquels opens, at this time of the year, from 10 to 4 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Monday. On Sundays it opens from 11 to 2 p.m.
Beautiful day in the Delmarva Peninsula!! Enjoy and talk to you later…

“Sometimes the best treasures can be found in the most unlikely places.”
Some like to cruise the malls; others, like me, are in search of those small stores, boutiques, and yes, consignment stores that are usually located off the beaten path. Finding the words, used; slightly used; and consignment will get my attention.
It was not always like that. I used to think that consignment shops were the discarded items nobody really wanted. Think again, they might have been discarded by someone for whatever reasons, but they are certainly someone else’s treasures.
Consignments stores have gotten very popular. What are you looking for? At times what you are looking for, it is not on your first visit to a consignment shop. The good thing about these shops is that the majority of the owners will be more than happy to call you or send you an e-mail if what you are looking for happens to fall into their hands.
I stopped at Seaquels the other day. It is located at 9 Atlantic Ave., (Rt. 26) in Ocean View, DE 19970. It is about 1 1/2 miles west of the town of Bethany Beach. Tel. is 302-829-8636. You can find them on Facebook. E-mail is seaquels@gmail.com.
Being that Seaquels is a consignment shop, the merchandise moves quickly. In reality you can stop every day and see something new. Never boring; always interesting and fun. On this particular day the merchandise was moving quickly.
The store is owned by two friends, Cindy and Kathy. One or the other is always there. They have about 700 consigners, which is a lot. The majority of the merchandise is on consignment. But, they do have new items like tea towels, rugs, jewelry and Bethany Beach bags.
I took so many pictures. So, are you ready to go shopping?
The entrance
Wicker – For some reason they had gotten plenty of wicker pieces by Lloyd/Flanders who since 1983 has been known for excellent quality. Cushion fabric is suitable for outdoor use.
Art
Stools
Furniture pieces. A sofa, headboards, desk and furniture.
Do you see anything you like or need? Give Cindy or Kathy a call at 302-829-8636. They’ll hold it for you.
Hope you found something…..talk to you later….
Oops…I forgot to tell you. Everything is very affordable. For real.

Consignment is the act of consigning; placing things in the hand of another, but retaining ownership until the goods are sold.
Well, what a surprise!! I did not know that Seaquels had opened in Ocean View , Delaware. Ocean View is west of Bethany Beach, by just a few miles, if that.
Seaquels motto? Resale! Replace!! Renew!!!
Seaquels is at 9 Atlantic Ave. (Rt. 26), Ocean View, DE, 19970. Tel. 302-829-8636. E-mail is seaquels@gmail.com. The website is under construction, at the moment, but will be up and running soon. The owners of this store are Cindy Davis and Kathy Green; friends from Philadelphia and Baltimore who decided, a year ago, that it was now or never to open Seaquels.
My friend, Debbie, was the one that suggested I visit this well received store.
The smile on someone’s face and the courtesy extended to me is something that I value highly. It’s almost like an instant connection. Cindy and Kathy were like that. Immediately the conversation started; they were so happy to show their store. I was not the only one there but they were very at ease in handling all of us.
You cannot miss the store on Rt. 26. It is colorful and will put a smile on your face, as well. They are open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Everything is on consignment. The furniture looked like brand new. Cindy and Kathy said that they move things around a lot. Customers were stopping and asking them to be on the look out for that special chair, table, sofa, or lamp.
Cindy and Kathy also said that they get a lot of local artists that will place their work on consignment, as well.
Each room is arranged to show off all the items in a very unique way; paying attention to details.
Even though it is a consignment store, they reserve the right to accept or not to accept items.
I took so many pictures so I hope you can get an idea of the store. Go check them out because you are going to be very impressed. Really, you will!!
The Quieter Season at the beaches is great….take advantage of it….talk to you later….
