How Cold Was It in 1979? So Cold the Ocean Froze, Bethany Beach, Delaware, Southern Delaware

These 2 photos are the only ones I have.   It was so cold in the winter of 1979 that the ocean froze one mile out.  These photos were taken in Bethany Beach, Delaware.  People were even walking on it.  Do you remember?

    I remember! We had a blizzard that year……back in the day when the state used to put up snow fences, remember that?
