I was totally surprised to hear that people think Tulip is a garden center. For many years I lived in the town of Bethany Beach….that’s where Tulip is from. It was in town and always was a must stop shop in Bethany. A few years ago it moved to Rehoboth Beach. The store has a much bigger locale and plenty of parking.

The store was always known for its lighting. Today, Tulip offers furniture, accessories, and gifts.
It also has a really cute corner for children, with sweaters hand knitted in Rehoboth Beach. Gifts for babies and fun things for toddlers.
 
The store is full of neat ideas for the holidays. I found and actually, bought, the Corkcicle. On my picture, if you look to the left of the lamp you can spot it. It freezes and then it cools your wine from the inside out.
The Dazzler is a battery operated candle. It has a LED bulb technology, it lasts about 5 hours, and runs on 2-AA batteries.
 
Holiday and New Year’s decorative place mats, napkins and surprises.
 
The glass crab ornament caught my attention.
Besides having a room dedicated to Vera Bradley, they also carry Bosom Buddy Bags.
 
Tulip also carries gifts for every occasion.
 
For the women that enjoy jewelry, a line from Florida, completely handcrafted with organic elements, nickel and lead free…also hypoallergenic.
You can find even some even on sale.
The second floor offers furniture, lighting, art and home accessories.
 
Now that you know that Tulip is not a garden center, by all means, stop by. They are very helpful if you are somewhat clueless on what you would like to purchase for that person that has it all.

Local shops, independent owners are what Downtown Rehoboth Beach is all about. You stop, you chat, and you might even become friends. Downtown Rehoboth Beach is so walkable; only one square mile. At this time of the year, the town looks great. The lights are beautiful and the merchants have gone all out to make sure that you have a great shopping experience…Holiday Sales!!
I have stopped a couple of times in the past month at Crysti. This shop is located at 33 Baltimore Avenue; one block north of Rehoboth Avenue and one block west of the Boardwalk. Crysti is celebrating 30 years in Rehoboth Beach. This shop has seen Rehoboth Beach turn into a year round resort. It did not use to be that way. It was a seasonal kind of town. Over the years Rehoboth Beach has done a great job in bringing the visitors during the summer and then bringing them back for a second season. Full of festivals, entertainment and a dining destination, as well.
Visitors love to shop in Delaware…tax free shopping. And the ones that are making this area their permanent home, are enjoying low property taxes.
If you are in Rehoboth this week-end, Crysti is a must stop shop. The entire store is 25% off, including Brighton. This holiday sale will be through Sunday, as well. Gift wrapping is also available.
And during the week-end, they will be serving cocoa and cookies. Definitely, stop and say hello.

Crysti is casual….that’s the best part of living at the beach. The relaxed attitude at our beaches is reflected in a lot of the clothing and accessories carried in many of our unique shops. At Crysti, you will find sweaters, scarves, jeans, jewelry, and bags. Plenty of gifts, as well.

This is a must stop shop in Rehoboth Beach, I thought, as I stepped into Bella Luna with my Breve. This shop is eclectic, whimsical and fun!! Bella Luna is, definitely, ready for all the upcoming festivals and holidays at the Delaware Beaches. It is bursting with merchandise. If you cannot find anything here, then you must be pretty hard to please. The store is geared for women. As I was taking some of the pictures, a couple of guys were sitting on benches outside, commenting how much their wives liked Bella Luna. So typical….waiting outside hoping the wives don’t yell “honey, come and see this”.
So…shall we start shopping?
The Sea Witch Festival is next week-end, right here in Rehoboth Beach. In order to fit in you need to wear something a little witchy.

Bella Luna has a line of cards that is one of my favorites. It is called Curly Girl Design. They are so much fun and holiday cards are also available.
So much to see at Bella Luna; the pictures don’t do justice. Best to visit and spend some time. Bella Luna also carries, jackets, gloves and bags…as the weather get colder those items are very much sought after.

An iconic shop; that’s what I call The Wooden Indian. Since 1977 in our community, this shop is a representation of what shopping in Downtown Rehoboth Beach has become. First class, sophisticated, charming, exquisitively appointed, accessible to all.
I remember when my children were young, they would look at me like I was from another world, as I would come into The Wooden Indian and the first thing I would say was: Touch only with your eyes. You know that look, don’t you? It worked because they never broke anything, thank God.

On Facebook, it can be found as Woodenindian Rehoboth. That might be your best best as you will be able to follow updates and what’s coming new into the store.
This is the second season for Paul and Joseph, the proprietors. Under their creative strengths, The Wooden Indian has acquired a modern simplicity that I noticed as I came in. You can move through the store with ease; every item is beautifully displayed.
One person that is key in this shop is Frances. I think she has seen the beginnings, the ups and downs of the store and the resurgence of what The Wooden Indian represents at the Delaware Beaches.
Rehoboth Beach is a very walkable town and The Wooden Indian is one street north of Rehoboth Avenue.

Well known brands are Lynn Chase, Waterford, Herend, Godiva, Royal Copenhagen, Beatriz Ball, Vietri, Nambe, and Vera Wang, among others.
 
The shop will wrap and ship. Baskets can be made for presents. A variety of preserves, peanuts, sauces, and dressings.
A new line of jewelry by designer Esther-Ann Ingram, an independent shell artist arranging shells into beautiful works of art. One of a kind pieces; the shells come from all over the world.
The Bridal Registry is an integral part of the traditional wedding preparation. The Wooden Indian has china, crystal, silverware, and plenty of gifts in a wide variety of prices.
It is a special time of the year. Plenty of weddings during the summer months. The beaches are an attraction for that special day.
   
And, for the new addition to the family, they also have presents, as well.

I asked Janice; how would you described your store? It’s a woman’s store, definitely. Someone once came in and said; “estrogen infused”. We laughed. Is it? Well, you might have to find for yourselves.

Home, Body, Soul. Those words are on their storefront awning. They truly tell the customer what you will find inside. As you come into the Bella Luna soft music is usually playing. One look at the store and you will see that it is full to capacity.
I like the word whimsical. It is a fun store. Women, girls; they all love it. Guys come in to buy for their significant others.
A tiny corner just for something for young ones.
For the home you will find, art, fun plaques, Christmas Decorations, tea towels, great napkins and unique cards.
For the body, plenty of beautiful scarves, including Pashminas; textures and colors for all tastes. Gloves, hats, lotions, potions and scents.
Lots of necklaces and earrings. These earrings were from Turkey, in vermeil.
As we were talking a guy came in. He was in a slight rush. A present for someone special. He picked it out immediately; I think she might have sent him there. Ideas on how to wrap it were given. Off he went.
The Wine Wraps caught my attention. Turning a bottle of wine into a creative holiday present. Made by a company called Santa Barbara Design Studio. Names like Reindeer Reserve, and Vixen’s Vino to name a few.
Bella Luna makes one feel good. That must be the soul part of it. Janice is always very friendly. And, by the way, the young lady that was also working there is a great addition to the shop; very helpful in her suggestions.
At this time of the year when we are looking for something special for that best friend, hostess gift, or your own personal indulgence….it was the perfect place!!!
