It has been a long time since I first stopped at Fun In The Sun. They had just moved to this location at 37229 Rehoboth Ave. Ext., Rehoboth Beach. But, they have been in the community since 2005. Tel. 302-227-4878. E-Mail? FunInTheSunGary@Gmail.com.
The weather has been gorgeous at the Delaware Beaches and I am starting to think of the “fun” activities that the beaches present to its visitors. This is one of them.
Fun In The Sun is doing great on this location. Plenty of parking too.
Scooters are not only used for fun; for some people they are their primary mode of transportation.

A few things you should know. There are differences between a scooter and a moped. A moped is a motorized bicycle, basically motorized pedals.
You sit IN a scooter but sit ON a motorcycle.
A moped goes between 20 to 25 mph. Scooters are much faster.
You need a license for a scooter; depending on the size of their engine they could be classified as a motorcycle.
Insurance of a scooter is cheaper than car insurance, but it also depends where you live, if you have a motorcycle license, and how long you have had it.

Vespa is just one brand of scooter. KYMCO is the primary brand at Fun In The Sun. This company has been in the U.S. for over 30 years. In the powersports industry, KYMCO is known for quality, style, performance and affordable prices. Website? http://www.kymcousa.com. You can find them on facebook, as well.
Lots of things to take into consideration but here in Rehoboth Beach is all about taking the scooter out and checking one great beach town.
The owner and operator of Fun In The Sun is Gary L. Smith. He is the first one to tell you that there are plenty of models to fit your individual style. Gary and his staff take pride in their product and what they are offering to visitors and residents.
ScootCoup is a 3 wheeled scooter for recreational use that fits 2 people and even has a trunk. It rents for $40/hour.

If you decide to rent one, a lesson is offered and is included in the price of the rental. You should take a lesson because awareness and riding skills are the best way to avoid accidents.
Fun In The Sun is open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. As the season gets into gear, extended hours will be offered.
Rental Rates are:
1st Hour $30, 2nd Hour $20, 3rd Hour is FREE, and 4th Hour is $15.
$95 for 8 hours, $125 for 24 hours, $195 for 2 days, and $375 for 5 days.
Please call 302-227-4878 for more info. and to see what specials they will be offering.
Fun In The Sun not only rents scooters; a big part being sales. If you buy from them, and need service, they will be able to pick up and deliver your scooter free of charge. Also, please remember, that there is No Sales Tax in Delaware.

In their workshop they also have storage facilities for those customers that would like to store them for the winter.

You might even be able to meet Winky…..

So, if you are ready for some fun…..then, give them a call.

Puppetry is a form of theatre, which manipulates puppets. It also involves storytelling. It is an ancient art form; about 30,000 years old. Puppets have been used to animate and communicate ideas and the needs of human societies.
With that in mind, I stopped to see the new home of the Puppetry Arts Center Museum and Theatre, located at 94 NE 2nd Ave., Delray Beach, FL. This area is also called Pineapple Grove.
I met the Director, Mrs. Janeen (Jan) Timmis. She told me that they had been in the county since 1993, but, just recently, opened in Delray.
You will find them there from about Noon on; Mondays through Saturdays. Shows are posted on their website, http://www.puppetcenter.org. You may also call them at 561-243-4330. On Facebook as Puppetry Center of the Palm Beaches and on Twitter as Sunshine Puppet.
Shows held during the day are $6.50, unless otherwise noted. In the evenings they are $10.00. If you have a group of 20 or more, please give them a call since they will give you a break. Please note that they only accept cash.
Next Puppet Show will be, Saturday, march 31st at 2:00 p.m.
On Mondays, at 1:00 p.m. you can learn puppet performance and manipulation with both, marionettes and hand puppets. Please give them a call at 561-243-4330 if you are interested in attending. It is free.
Even though a lot of the shows are tailored for children, there is also Magic and Comedy for adults 18 and over. You just have to check the schedule or give them a call, as well.
As I stepped inside the Center, on the left hand side, you will find a small Museum and Exhibit. There were puppets representing many styles, sizes, and cultures. Favorite characters, as well.

A group of Indonesian Wayang Golek Rod Puppets. These puppets’ bodies were carved from Acacia wood with intricate fine details. Hand painted and dressed in Batik clothes.

A Puppet Reference Library with a large number of puppet related books, videos, journals and photos for anyone to use while visiting the Center.

On the other side of the Center, a shop with puppets and marionettes available for sale.

In the back is the Theatre. It can accommodate large groups or could be tailored for much smaller and intimate groups, as well. Wheelchair accessible.

Jan and her husband were very friendly and would love to discuss puppets with you. They are like grandparents and I am sure children relate to them beautifully.
So, if you are in Delray Beach, or towns nearby, check them out.

Have a great Day!!
