Jody and I parked on Wilmington Avenue and right by Penny Lane. It looked so pretty on Friday evening as we strolled the Avenue. Pretty soon the crowds will be here and so, we, the residents, love to take the opportunity to stroll, shop and grab something to eat before the season arrives.
Our choice was Modern Mixture. I love writing about this restaurant because Leo is cooking very healthy for those of us that want to shed a few pounds and get ready for Summer 2014. And, if you have a gluten allergy, Modern Mixture is very aware of customers with allergies and sensitivities.
Modern Mixture is located at 62A Rehoboth Avenue. Tel. 302-227-0600. The website? http://www.modern-mixture.com. He has a liquor license as well. Leo takes pride in his cooking, using fresh ingredients and plenty of herbs to give a unique flavor to his dishes.
Every day special soups are being prepared in his kitchen. Ask: Cual es la sopa del dia? On cool days or evenings is all you would need.
His chopped salads are very good, as well. He can customize any to your liking.
On Friday Jody and I had the Modern Mixture’s House, which had romaine, onion, tomato, and fresh cactus called “nopalito”, feta, and lime juice topped with avocado.
If you just want a healthy smoothie, they are the best!
Leo gave us Mexican “breads”….we took them home for breakfast in the a.m. A hint of cinnamon and sugar….someone in my home ate it.

When my friends, Cindi, and Madelon and I stopped last week to say hello and have a bite to eat, I decided that even though she has a realtor, word of mouth through social media has proven that it does get the message through. We are all so connected in many ways….at times too many. Nevertheless, if you are looking in South Florida, you might want to check this property out.
Anita’s condo is at 210 Captains #716. The community provides, boating, tennis, swimming pools, yacht club, exercise facility and 24 hr. guard service. The selling price does not include all these facilities, though. The listing price is $376,000. The condo has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and one half bath on the first floor. It is 1,749 square feet. There are also stairs to have in mind.
Captain’s Walk is very well maintained. We arrived and parked in the guests parking spaces.
Her entry is quaint and we were so glad to see plants thriving in the Florida sunshine. After the winter we have had up north seeing color was so welcoming.
 
Her condo is bright and with plenty of cross ventilation. To the right the half bath, followed by the kitchen.

I can feel it in the air. My daffodils are blooming, they are no longer scared of another frost. The Delaware Beaches are looking good. Driving around owners of establishments are working hard. Afterall, life at the beach is pretty awesome. Don’t take it for granted, believe me. I know Southern Delaware is special.
Two events in Rehoboth Beach, aka The Nation’s Summer Capital are bringing plenty of visitors to our beaches this week-end. There are plenty of other events, but these ones are very special.

This is a popular event featuring local stores with clothing modeled by VIA members. Were you at the Delaware Beaches today? Gorgeous, wasn’t it? I was driving from Bethany Beach to Rehoboth Beach and I was thinking….how lucky if this road was your commute every single day. It was for my husband. No traffic, the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Bay on the other.
The beautiful Indian River Bridge was bright today. Have you seen in the evening?
Going through it and looking at the expansive views, is a scenery I love and never get tired of looking.
So many events and fun things to do while vacationing at the Delaware Beaches. I live here and have not done it all. Being on the beach is just the beginning….
FORT MILES was built in 1941. This coastal fortification defended assets along the Delaware River and Bay such as oil refineries and factories, as well. More info? DOGFISH HEAD has tours available Monday through Saturday. The brewery is located at #6 Cannery Village Center in Milton, Delaware. Tel. 302-684-1000. This tour is worth going to. So much fun and very informative. You can also have a bite to eat while touring. BunYan’s Lunchbox has beer infused brats, chowder and pickles. Grab a brew and enjoy a little tasting. REHOBOTH BEACH MUSEUM….I always say that this is a starting point whether you have been visiting Rehoboth Beach for years or your first time. It is located at 511 Rehoboth Avenue by thye roundabout as you enter Rehoboth Beach, right by the Rehoboth Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Visitor’s Center. Telephone 302-227-7310. Check the exhibits by visiting http://www.rehobothbeachmuseum.org. It is a very friendly museum….your kids would like it, as well.
As much as I love the ocean, I really have come to enjoy the bay so much. Late afternoons just to sit on a beach chair, it is so relaxing.
