I wish all my friends and readers a beautiful day. I remember when I became a Mother, I was totally complete.
For those of you you who Mother someone in your life….Happy Mother’s Day!
Note: The photo was taken in Bethany Beach the other day. It is not unusual to see families like this throughout the Delaware Beaches in the Spring. I never get tired of looking at them.
February 22nd, 2014
Whether you like to visit the Delaware Beaches at the height of the season or during their Second Season, you have to admit that it is great to get out of town and from the routines of our daily lives. For many this year is shoveling snow. Guess what? There is no snow at the Delaware Beaches, and I am writing this post from Rehoboth Beach.
You can walk the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk while breathing in the ocean air and taking in the gorgeous scenery.
You might have to walk it a few times if you are like me…..taking my friend, Ron, to eat his first pizza at Nicola Pizza the other day. I told them that Ron knew how to make pizza. He says he can make a Chicago pizza on the grill that it is to die for. I said to the server…make it a large, half sweet peppers and mushrooms; the other half sausage and onions….well done, please. I think Ron liked it!!
If you are looking for something to do today….Hot Off The Press Exhibit at the Rehobothy Art League located at 12 Doods Lane. Tel. 227-8408. Website? http://www.rehobothartleague.org.
This exhibit is the first ever at the Rehoboth Art League of student work from various colleges and universities in Delaware and Maryland. Delaware State University, Salisbury University and Washington College will be represented. This exhibition gives these students a unique opportunity to exhibit their artwork in a professional setting, and learn valuable skills important to an artist, such as submitting, preparing, and displaying their work.
The Rehoboth Art League is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sunday from Noon until 4 p.m. This particular exhibit will be displayed until March 2nd.
If you are traveling to Georgetown, Delaware……you might be coming to the Delaware Beaches, leaving town or just doing some business in Georgetown…The Brick Hotel is a great place to have lunch or dinner. Please check their website, http://thebrickhotel.com. It was a half point place to meet a friend….and this is what we had for lunch, which takes place daily from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The Oyster Po Boy…fried oysters on a torpedo roll with chipotle mayo and a side green salad.
Marci got the Daily Quiche accompanied with a green salad, topped with blackberries and a sweet mustard dressing.
Shops are open at the Delaware Beaches…along with all the outlets. Great sales going on! Talk to you later.

Come closer…May I help you?
Without a shadow of a doubt, Shadow, was eager to help as I stepped into Doggies at The Beach located at 18806 John J. Williams Highway, or Rt. 24 in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
My Heinz 57, Addy, won the “Valentine”s Day give-away. How exciting! Addy will be getting complimentary Daycare and Grooming, and she has until December of 2014 to use. That won’t be a problem because when I need to leave the area, Doggies at The Beach is home away from home for Addy. I have written plenty of times about this doggie day care facility. It is cage free with 24/7 human supervision. They offer day car, overnight care, training courses, and lots of love. Tel. 302-644-8200. Website? http://www.doggiesatthebeach.com. You can also follow them from your computer since they have webcams.
These other customers were there and I had to take their picture, as well. They are a family and they moved in unisome. Almost like saying “okay we stay together when at daycare”. Too funny.
And here is the winner…Addy!!
January 29th, 2014
I am looking forward to Groundhog Day just as much as to the Super Bowl. Super Bowl Sunday is not the only the only event going on. Phil will come out of his burrow and, hopefully, will not see its shadow. Could not handle 6 more weeks of winter. Lots of events happening while waiting for Phil to come out. Please visit http://www.groundhog.org.
Federal Donuts, from Philadelphia, came to my house this past week-end and they were so good. My favorite? The Cookies & Cream. Federal Donuts offer Coffee, Donuts, and Chicken…people line up for hot donuts right out of the oven…your choice if you want chicken or not. Please check them out at http://www.federaldonuts.com.
We have balmy winters in Southern Delaware. The beaches is a great place to enjoy a snow event. Fresh snow….the surroundings are quiet. This morning was such a day.
So, my “rescued” Heinz 57, Addy, decided it was time to go outside…..Oh, I don’t thik so.
This is more like it…I think so.
Waiting patiently for spring!! Talk to you later.
