If you are planning a vacation to Delray Beach, Florida, and choose to stay at the Seagate Hotel on Atlantic Avenue, you will be able to have privileges at the Seagate Beach Club, located at 401 South Ocean Blvd. For many years the Seagate Beach Club was all members, but since the opening of the Seagate Hotel, guests can sit on its private beach, and enjoy the many amenities the club has to offer.
Enjoying an evening at the Seagate with friends, Michael and Jeff, was special on Friday evening. Catching up with them after not seeing them for some time. Since it is a private club, I extended the patrons the opportunity to dine in complete privacy, so therefore, only a few photos of the evening you will see.
A room with a view is the place to be if you are seated on the balcony.
The bread was excellent!! And what followed were salads, beets, calamari, several types of beef and a pork ragu with gnocchi….chocolate cake, ice cream and key lime pie! Yum!
And, then, some ventured outdoors to catch one of the movies under the moonlight!!
Talk to you later….have a good one!
September 21st, 2013
Usually the action is on Atlantic Ave., but early in the morning that was not the case. Too quiet!! Everyone was on the beach, as another beautiful day in the Village by the Sea was developing.
The full moon was still there, but the sun was definitely out. A little less humid than in the past couple of days. One person said “Fall is here”, I was already perspiring…maybe 85 degrees?
The early risers were getting ready for a little surf-fishing.
The others were exercising on the beach.
Me? I was just taking a walk and taking the beach in…the palm trees, the ocean breezes, and the salty air.
Groups were pouring into the beach….it was Beach Clean-Up in Delray Beach with Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful. For more info. visit http://www.keeppbcbeautiful.org.
They had trash bags, gloves, and a list of things to find. It was going to be a fun day on the beach for everyone.
Delray Beach is pretty big and there is room for everyone. The teams were assembling and games of volleyball were getting underway.
Having breakfast in one of the restaurants that are right on A1A is a favorite of many in the a.m.
Wow, the seagrapes are plentyful this year…next post.
Talk to you later.
April 8th, 2013
This past week-end was the 51st Delray Affair, in the Village by the Sea, also called, Delray Beach!! After the rainy Friday, Saturday and Sunday proved to be that Delray Beach was at total capacity.
The beach in Delray looks fantastic. A lot of work has been done to the beach and it shows. It is so wide; the sand so soft; the water is still so clear.
But, during the Delray Affair visitors and residents alike were in Downtown Delray Beach. The streets were opened to pedestrians.
The Delray Affair is the largest arts and crafts festival in the Southeastern U.S. It showed with multitude of people walking shoulder to shoulder.
Festivals bring food. At the Delray Affair there was plenty to taste.
The cheesecake and berries on a stick caught my attention.
This vendor really captured our group’s attention….The Man Apron!! Plenty of raunchy comments!!
After The Man Apron…some wine tasting was needed.
Jason Colannino was attracting a big crowd. He plays at the Sundy House in Delray Beach. He was really good. For more information, please visit http://www.jasoncolannino.com
At the end of the day….taking a break on the beach was all we needed, and pizza from Pizza Rustica to follow.
Talk to you later.
March 6th, 2013

It is so good to be able to say thank you and mean it. I want to thank those companies advertising on AboutMyBeaches. Some of them I bugged a lot; explaining why they should be on my website. I really do appreciate it.
AboutMyBeaches started back on July of 2009. It was one of those ideas. I am a frustrated concierge. First it was going to be just a website. When my webmaster, Ed Timmons, met with me, I kept talking and talking. He probably thought I was more of a blogger. So, really, it was his suggestion. Here I am. I consider myself to be in the business of Word of Mouth.
Since my advertisers are on my website, which is written in a blog style, you can access them directly. Just look at them on the right hand side of AboutMyBeaches, http://www.aboutmybeaches.com, and you will be able to find out what these companies are all about. They are all different. January 5th, 2012
Yesterday, well, it was too cold to snow. As I took Addy out last night I thought it was much warmer as in 38 degrees or so. When I woke up this a.m. and saw the dusting of snow, and believe me, it was just a dusting, for crying out loud, my thoughts went to the town of Delray Beach, Florida. That’s my home away from home.
So when I say a picture says it all; it does, don’t you think?
With that in mind I have to tell you that back in 2002 was the year when we first visited Delray Beach. Like anything else, a friend said to stay there while visiting colleges in South Florida. We liked it so much that in 2003 we bought a place. I think it reminded me of Rehoboth Beach; small coastal town, lots of restaurants, the beach, art and entertainment. The locals, natives, shopkeepers, and inn-keepers are very friendly; like you have known them forever.
The following companies are those that we have worked with on an ongoing basis. So reliable and very professional.
We met Cheran from Tauriello & Co. and she has been our realtor ever since. The company is located right there on Atlantic Ave. 900 E. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach, FL 33483. Tel. 561-5570. Toll Free 877-509-8300. Website? http://www.tauriello.com. Daniel and Sue Tauriello are the Brokers of Record.
Cheran and Tauriello have been very accessible and easy to work with. They have been in the community for so many years and know the area so well. You can find Tauriello & Co. on Facebook.
So, if you are in search of a place to hang your beach chair and bag, give them a call.
Overlooking east on Atlantic Ave.
Anita is the owner of Anita Jennings Designs. She is an Interior Designer. At times people are a little put off by some of these designers but Anita is very easy to talk to. She has said in the past that if you have a lot of money then the work of a designer is just so easy. It is when there is a budget that the designer can really shine and show what he or she can do. I can recommend her with complete confidence. If you are interested then give her a call at 561-278-7473. Anita speaks English and Spanish and a few other languages, as well.
Beach House Management, LLC. is a Property Management Company in Delray Beach. Michael Keegan is at the helm and I have yet to see anyone that is so organized and so professional as he deals with all of us, his clients. He knows I cannot live without him; I have said so before.
He probably thinks I am crazy for saying this but there is nothing he cannot do. So, there is nothing else to say. Having a property manager is a necessity, not a luxury, more so for me and others that do not make Delray Beach our permanent home.
You can contact Michael at 561-376-4329. He has a very nice website so check it out at www.mybeachhouses.com.
Please note that Tauriello & Co., Anita Jennings Designs, and Beach House Management are advertisers on AboutMyBeaches, all you have to do is click on their websites on the right hand side of my blog. That’s all you need to do to know more about them.
Just a thought…sand between our toes…a chair, a beach bag….and a place to hang it all…
Have a great day….talk to you later…
November 12th, 2011
Is that time of the year when getting colder up north means that you are either a Snowbird or a Snowflake. I think I am in the category of the Snowflake. The snowflakes just come and go. Don’t get me wrong, I like cold weather, within reason. But, the other day I saw that someone had written on Facebook, where else? I love it when it gets cold up north. It was from someone that had a business in South Florida. And, yes, the season has begun. The airports are a little crowded, reservations are a most in some of the most sought after restaurants. You know the drill, right?
When I opened my computer I saw that even though it is going to warm up during the day…38 degrees in Rehoboth Beach….hmmmm this post was then much needed.
I have been in Delray Beach now since 2003. You have heard me go on and on about how unobstructed the beaches are here. No tall buildings, just a few things are needed to enjoy the beach; the water with beautiful color and it is so clear. That’s what originally attracted me to this town. Also, it reminded me of Rehoboth Beach, my home.
When my husband I first came here, we were sitting at a restaurant having breakfast and we picked up a real estate magazine. We thought we would just look around. That started a relationship with Cheran Tauriello from Tauriello & Co., located at 900 E. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach, FL. 33483. Tel. 561-278-5570. Toll free # 877-509-8300. Brokers of Record & Owners: Daniel & Sue Tauriello
They have been so easy to work with. They are very professional. In Delray Beach for so many years; they know the community, neighborhoods and the company deals with a wide variety of properties.
I have suggested them to friends, as well. And my own personal feelings are that I have not had to look anywhere else. They really have been very good to us.
Tauriello & Co. is one of my advertisers. To go directly into their site, click on their website on the right hand side of this blog.
Anita Jennings Designs – I have known Anita for so many years. She is from my Humacao, Puerto Rico. That’s where I grew up. And, I found her in Delray when we bought our place. Anita is a one woman show with many years of experience in design. She is also very easy to work with and speaks several languages. Her telephone is 561-278-7473. She is one of my advertisers, just click on her website on the right hand side of this blog to go directly into her site and see what she is all about.
Atlantic Ave. going East
Beach House Management – Michael Keegan is the Property Manager that I have used since 2003. Being out of town, having a property management company to take care of your place is not a luxury, but a necessity. I have to laugh because when you visit Beach House Management’s website, you will find a list of services provided by them. If I had to tell you the services Michael has provided for us, there would be no end. Many are listed there but the majority are not. Some funny and some not so funny.
I always say that I cannot live without him; it is still true. Beach House Management is located in the heart of Delray Beach. Call Michael at 561-376-4329. Website? www.MyBeachHouses.com. Fax: 561-330-6204. Or, email him to BeachHouseMgmt@aol.com.
Beach House Management is also one of my advertisers. You can just click on their website and you will be right there. They really have been constant and attentive and great to deal with.
I don’t think I had to beg them to become advertisers; well, maybe a little. Word of mouth, a blog, a website….it all helps.
So, what are you waiting for?…..talk to you later….
July 28th, 2011
and points in between. Yes, sometimes I might be on my way somewhere and the opportunity calls to check out a food truck, a tapas bar, a new beach, or a new museum. That’s why it is so much fun about writting a website in a blog style. It is a diary, yours alone.
AboutMyBeaches has made realized that I want to know and experience more. I remember when my webmaster, Ed Timmons from 4C, Inc., http://www.4cinc.com, mentioned I should write a blog instead of the standard website. I guess he figured I was talking his ear off so I was a good candidate for bla, bla, bla. He just did not know how much I could talk.
Then, I started blogging, only a few readers here or there. People that are connected on the internet suddenly started to find me. I think my posts are honest and from my heart. I have posted so far 728 posts, and now I am getting over 14,000 hits per month. Who would have thought?
And, you know what? I want more. Granted, some posts are more interesting than others; so its life itself. Remember that it is a diary.
Pictures….I decided to incorporate them because people are so visual. Looking at a picture entices you to read. Well, I should hope so, even though I do have some friends that say they have read the posts but maybe they just looked at the pictures. I know who they are, right? Shelley, Debbie at times. Not Missy or Richard, though. My fault, I test them.
My friends and my family have put up going out to dinner with me. My first statement as we sit down at a table is “don’t touch the food until I take a picture” and “can we all order something different?” I am surprised they even still want to go out with me.
It is so funny because I get e-mails or suggestions on places to go and check out. I welcome them; we all have different likes and dislikes and I am an inquisitive person.
The coastals towns that, I, predominantly promote, I love. There is something about living by the ocean. I know I am lucky. The Delaware Beaches have been home for many years and so good to my family. Giving them a push is not a brainer.
I do offer advertising on my website. It is $500/ per year. I offer personal care. No clicks here or there. You are there to stay on my site. Thanks to the following advertisers.

I thank them all. If you are interested, please contact me.
I have posts to write. A few still left from my 24 hours in Baltimore, Maryland. Events going on at the Rehoboth Museum, a must if you are visiting Rehoboth Beach. On the Rocks is, believe it or not, inside the terminal for the Cape May-Lewes Ferry. Amazing views; casual, a beer or a hamburger, fries. I want to check the tailor in Rehoboth….got to go..have a great day!!
