Crawling Rehoboth Beach, Downtown, DE Beaches, The Olive Orchard, Tasting Room, Oils & Vinegars from All Over The World, Southern Delaware, Sussex County, A New & Delicious Concept in Downtown Rehoboth Beach
Olive oils….trend or here to stay? I think here to stay and with so many infusions, there is no way they will be going out. Balsamic Vinegars….trend or here to stay? Staying, as well. The flavors can be bold, perfect for dipping, or to be used as marinades for elegantly dressings of salads.
Crawling Rehoboth Beach with my usual suspects from Ocean City, Maryland, Cindi and Madelon, we not only crawled but tasted some very interesting dishes. So, here we were in front of The Olive Orchard located at 70 Rehoboth Avenue. Tel. 302-2-727-5829. Website? http://www.the-olive-orchard.com. I was looking forward to experience this delicious and new concept in Rehoboth Beach. I had just gotten some infused oils and vinegars that were out of this world. Needless to say, I am getting a little hooked on this infused “trend”.
As you stepped into The Olive Orchard you are surrounded by stainless still casks containing the oils and vinegars.
In front of the stainless steel casks there are disposable tasting cups. These two were amazing. Taste the Blood Orange infused oil first, then try the Dark Chocolate Balsamic Vinegar. Then mix them together. So good!!
If you would like to purchase any oils or vinegars just say so and they will be bottled and sealed right in front of you.
The Olive Orchard carries 5 varieties of premium honey, as well as premium infused sea salts. Throughout the tasting room there are gift baskets and gifts items, as well.
A brand by the name of Olivella is offered at The Olive Orchard. These products are 100% Virgin Olive Oil, made in Italy…lotions, creams, (moisturizer, anti wrinkle, eye, nourishment), bath and shower gels, liquid soaps, shampoo, conditioners and even a baby line.
Make sure to look for The Olive Orchard at the 2nd Annual Taste of Rehoboth on Thursday, 8/21 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center located at 229 Rehoboth Avenue.
Olive oils are also used for desserts. I remember that it first caught my eye back in 2012 when I visited a restaurant in Federal Hill in Baltimore, Maryland called Blue Grass. They served an olive oil cake with a Grand Marnier glaze, brown sugar chantilly and candied orange zest. It was so moist and so tasty…just take a look at it.
Have a good one!
