What’s Going On?
Friday, 4/18 – LEWES – THE 46th ANNUAL GREAT DELAWARE KITE FESTIVAL – Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes – Registration will be at 9:30 a.m. and the competitions will begin at 10:30 a.m. I should be warmer by then. No entry fee for competitors. Three age categories. No charge to watch, but enrance fees willl apply when entering the Park which will be collected at the entrance. $4/car for Delaware license cars and $8/car for out of state tags. The Jolly Trolley will transport spectators at not cost to the competition field from the state park’s beach parking lot. Handicap parking is available at the Seaside Nature Center parking lot. Don’t have a kite but want to participate? Kids’ Ketch and Rehoboth Toy & Kite Company will be on site selling a wide variety of kites. You can practice ahead of the competition at 10 a.m. There will food vendors, a face painter, and community organizations. More info? EASTER EGG HUNTS
Saturday, 4/19 – DEWEY BEACH – 6th ANNUAL ALLEY-OOP EGG SCOOP – New Orleans Street. $3.00 online, but $4.00 on Saturday. Ages 5 and under at 10 a.m., ages 6 – 8 at 11 a.m., and ages 9 – 11 at noon. Saturday, 4/19 – LEWES – EASTER EGG HUNT CANALFRONT PARK – Front Street in Lewes. Photos with the Easter Bunny at 10 a.m. Hunt begins at 11 a.m. $5/child. Reserve your space online at http://lewescanalfrontpark.org. There will be face painting, balloon artists, music. Hidden Eggs! Treats!, Surprises!
Saturday, 4/19 – GEORGETOWN CHAMBER ANNUAL EASTER EGG HUNT – Location? Nutter Marvel Carriage Museum, 510 S Bedford Street in Georgetown. Tel. 302-856-1544. 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Various age categories with up to 12 years old. Over 7,000 candy filled eggs will be hidden n the Museum grounds. In addition to the free egg hunts, for $3 kids can enjoy unlimited bounces on the moon bounce, the clown magician, train rides on Georgetown’s Lil Toot, and face painting. Sunday, 4/20 – FRANKFURT – EASTER EGG HUNT – THE RIVER, A WESLEYAN CHURCH. Location? 35175 Roxana Rd, Frankford, DE 19945. Moms and Dads enjoy the 10:30 service while the kids have fun with their volunteer staff. Special Prize Eggs will be sponsored by the Clayton Theater, Millsboro Bowling Alley and Midcoast Gymnastics.
